The only disadvantage I've found is that unless people use the "New Posts" feature they will generally not browse "deeply" enough to find the member forums.

But, they are still great to have and IMO worth at least as much as we pay for them.![]()
I think this can be done: when you move a thread, you can leave a link from the old location to the new thread. But, I think it would get very obnoxious if all of the member forums were doing that for every thread.Kat said:Yeah, that's what I was thinking, Serp... It's a shame the database can't just have a pointer from both locations to the thread in question. Yeah, you can do it with HTML links via a new thread, but it's not quite the same thing.

Generally, no. I don't think the threads in my forum are read by as many people as those posted in the main forum. But to be honest, it really doesn't bother me. I know the people who take the time to look at the member forums are the ones who care a bit more and are those whom I would want to read my personal forum threads. I may not always have the time to read every thread every day, but I do eventually get around to reading most of them. I often will not post a reply, but I've at least read the thread.MaizeCrazy said:For those that do have their own forums, do you see that your threads are read as often as the threads you post in the main forum?

Will I continue to have my own forum? You bet! It may not be extra special to the general cornsnake populace, but it's special to me. I don't post there as often as I would like, but I know that I have a place I can post just about anything I want to. And I like that ability.
