Zebra Finch hatching =)

Ha I'll answer my own question - its Thomas Newman (one of my fav. composers) and its the theme to the horse whisperer - he also did American Beauty, Finding Nemo, Meet Joe Black, Jarhead, Shawshank Redemption... list goes on and on... I also like Clint Mansell who did the music for the Fountain... sorry - got excited there. :) And a bit off topic!

Cute video. I love watching my babies hatch. Right now I have 5 clutches of various birds in their nest boxes, in all stages of development. Button quail should start hatching tomorrow or Thursday. Maybe I can get a video of that. :)

Finches are a lot of fun. That almost makes me miss my zebs.

Almost... :grin01:

Daddy

Actually, that was the daddy bird, Patches. We have some Gouldian finch eggs that should have hatched already...hopefully they still will. And the Societys just layed more eggs....AGH!

We have a colony of Zebra and a colony of Society at the shop I work at. They both regularly lay eggs, but they never hatch for some reason...

Cool video, though!

Do you use a two-chamber box for your goulds? Are you having good luck with them this year? I've held off on getting into gouldians because all my breeder friends are having a horrible time with them this season.

My societies are taking a break. I really wish my javas and silverbills would do something. I have orange-cheeked waxbills and bronze-wing mannikins too, but they're too young to do anything.

Zebs are so cute. Sometimes I wish I had some, but I think they would drive my bourkes crazy.
