Alright folks, I'm here, and so are some new photos of Zephyr!
She got to pose on the Christmas cactus that finally bloomed, and in this crazy plate that I made in ceramics class.
Feel free to stop by and say "hey", and... enjoy!
Happy holidays everyone!
Alright folks, Zephyr is growing like a weed and I finally... sort of... figured out how to use the macro on my camera. Sooo here's some new photos of my pretty little girl! They are without flash, but they are indoors.. the lighting in my kitchen was the best I could find.
I can't wait until she gets bigger so I can find out why mysteries lie in her genetics...
annnyways... tell me what you think...
... she doesn't like to hold still for her macro shots...
here she is with a normal plastic fork... for comparison. How big / small is she for a September 09?
He's an Okeetee. Pounding pinkies like nobody's business, too. Sven is starting to look bigger literally every time we get him out, so we're thinking he's hitting a growth spurt. Maybe Zephyr will too!
I think general safe food guidelines state that thawed food should not be refrozen. That being said, when you buy fresh meat from the grocer, there is a VERY GOOD chance that it was frozen before being sent to the grocer. So if you buy meat and freeze it, you are in essence refreezing. I am sure there are guidelines by which these things are done. I can't help with that though.
For the cost of that pinkie, it's not worth a potential health issue by refreezing IMHO.
Also, I came in contact with Zephyr's breeder, and looked at one of her siblings, and it turns out that they were lavenders. So, Zephyr may well be het. lavender! And, if I don't find Apollo, I'm going to buy a pretty adult male amel het. lavender, eventually producing Opals!!!!
Finally..... updates!
Zephyr is getting huge... fast... and she's maintaining her awesome color that I love so much
As she's getting bigger I've noticed that she's kind of nippy... I'm going to have to work on that.. I don't really want to be a member of the bite club. *shudder* I've already got a vicious iguana with my finger's names on him..
So here you go! New photos! Tell me what you think of my little miss amel
