Zephyr - FluorescentAmel Progression

Beautiful fluorescent colors. Congrats! You planning on breeding?

Thank you!

and Yes, I am planning on breeding her, but not for a couple of years. She's not even a month old yet!
I'm getting a male Guyer Blizzard on monday (or sometime close to then) that will be her mate, probably in two or three years. Her lineage is unknown, but the Blizzard is obviously Amel / Charcoal. So, I could get Amels, Blizzards, or... well... who knows!

i didn't figure you would be breeding her any time real soon ;)
you will get an interesting clutch from those two

Thank you!

Actually you would get hets. Which I would buy one from you. Guyer is a great guy to deal with. I am glad you went the Guyer way! I am gonna see what Guyer has and breed my Guyer Ghost het Amel PHet Motley

Yeah I was actually thinking of getting either a diffused amel (or hypoamel) or some sort of stripe (still lacking black pigment) for future breeding with the blizzard. That way I could end up with whiteouts and just some beautiful snakes.
And Guyer told me when I talked to him today that I could get amels and charcoals out of their mating, and then second generation I could get some blizzards.
I'm just really looking forward to spreading on Zephyr's coloration... you know... in a couple of years.

Have you ever used www.corncalc.com ?

It's really awesome. It does all of the genetics work for you. All you have to do is fill out what your corn snake's dominant and reccessive genes are!
When I used it for Zephyr X blizzard, this is what I got:

Male: Blizzard ( Amel, Charcoal )

Female: Amel het Charcoal

Phenotype:

50.0% Amel het Charcoal
50.0% Blizzard ( Amel, Charcoal )

Genotype:

50.0% Amel het Charcoal
50.0% Amel, Charcoal

Awww haha well thanks! I really didn't know that I was getting a nice snake when I got her... haha... so I guess I just got lucky!
But yeah, in a year or two, depending on how quickly she grows, I'll be sure to get you a couple of her babies :D ! I think I'd get Amels het charcoal and Blizzards out of her and my new blizzard!

Zephyr is getting ready to shed, along with Apollo AND Salvador (my beloved Red Iguana who is now missing his tail :( )

Soooo, I'm posting a couple of pictures of her new duller color and creepy eyes. Enjoy!

ohhh youz in trouble for those pic sizes. Can't wait to see the post shed small pictures ;)

Alright everyone so here's some updated photos and info on Zephyr!!

She's growing and looking good.. she still poops every single time I hold her. Unfortunately she's a difficult eater. She currently hasn't eaten in nine days and I'm waiting to see if she eats right now....
But she's still bright and exciting!

So ya. New (smaller!) (unedited besides cropping) photos. Tell me what you think!

Zephyr finally ate!
Here is a photo of her with a pinky in her belly (or.. neck, I suppose).
The mouse heads are around her because Apollo doesn't like them and, because I was having trouble getting her to eat (it had been about two weeks) I put one headless pinky in and then those heads to see what she wanted. She went right for the pinky! :D They give you a good idea of how small she is!

Enjoy! Oh oh and... tell me what you think or just comment and leave amel photos!
