Zero...the mystery

This is Zero, obviously, and I'm not sure what she is. At least I think it's a she. She might be a light anery, could be a ghost, maybe a dark lavender? In person, she has kind of a grape cast to her saddles. She's a petstore pick-up, so breeding trials await.

the shape of her saddles make me think of a grey rat a bit but here head looks pure corn so I think she is. She does have a special color! But would you expect a lavender to end up in a petshop? I think she must be some kind of ghost... a very beautiful one!

Okay, I'm sorry ahead of time, but good LORD.

Every time someone posts a mystery snake you call out hybrid. Why do you do that? What makes you think that the snake is a grey rat x corn cross? Have you ever looked at pictures of F1's, or even seen one in person?

I just don't understand.... :shrugs:

My vote is that it is a VERY nice looking Ghost. Great find! Congrats! :crazy02:

I don't think I do that..... I think you don't remind the threads when I didn't or I made them up... just the shape of the saddles caught my attention, and I never said I think it is a F1 cross nor did I say hybrid. Neither did I say I do expect it to have grey rat blood 'cause its head looks pure corn. Would it have had an 'odd' head pattern too, I might have.

Trust me, I've seen lots and lots of pics of hybrids, though not real life specimens. The latter is not relevant 'cause this is a pic too. Maybe I'm just a little less concerned about telling what I really think of 'weird' snakes or locality phases than other people that might be a little intimated by being flamed for it. They just don't comment probably.... I've had some PM's that make me think so... Or I just like to get some attention, it's up to you to choose :crazy02:

I've no personal experience with non-patterned morph Ghosts. And I can't see the eyes clearly, but its a gorgeous snake otherwise. To me it looks looks like the direction some of my Anery A's are going in their quest for fading out the nice crisp black and greys.

The saddle shapes caught my eye too, but I didn't instantly think anything but "what unusual saddles". What does the belly look like? With the saddles being what they are, it looks like a few het Motley I've seen in the past. But they generally also have a partially clear ventral.

And Blutengel, you do seem to toss out the hybrid card a tad more often than you realize. It's almost become somewhat of a joke at times. When you reply I inwardly think to myself "oh its another hibird" and chuckle.

Personally, I tend to lean towards the light anery, and tend to think along the lines with Tac.. Maybe a het for mot in there...

Regards

She looks similer to how my Alioth looked when he was young. I have plans later on to test him for anery, hypo, and lavender as he is supposed to be het lavender, hypo, and amel.

ROFL! It's not a dog, it's a sheepskin on the floor.

My first thought at the petstore was ghost. I was convinced in their lighting that that's what she was. Then I took her out a few days later at home (after acclimating) and I'm thinking, ok she's an anery. BUt every time I look at her, I am baffled. As for the saddles, I'm hoping there's het mot in the mix. Her belly is mostly clear. I'll try to get belly shots. I have a butter with an almost identical pattern, again, I'm hoping for motley genes.

I think my first breeding will be to either and anery or a ghost. By the time she's big enough to breed, I will have proven out my whether my ghost/anery stripe is ghost or anery. I will probably use him first, can't hurt to get some stripe hets too!

@misty; I did admit to throw in some hybrid thoughts more often than others but I suspect other people to just don't comment when thinking any hybrid thought. If not, well them maybe my hybrid alarm might be more sensitive.... I already suspected it to be some kind of joke... well, as long as that doesn't mean I'm ignored or not taken serious by the bunch of people at other threads it doesn't bother me.

My basic thought is that she is a ghost, a very purple ghost, but a ghost. I'm looking forward to three years from now. And hey, Zwyatt cleaned up at a petstore with that bloodred, who knows what a wholesaler may have gotten in a package deal. I think even Rich isn't sure what may have made it out the door sometimes. LOL I might have gotten lucky. Oh, I wish for an anery lav....
