How much $$ have you spent?

I started thinking today about all the items I have purchased since I bought my first $15 corn snake from repticon.

I think I have spent at least $250 total, and that blows my mind...

but I love both of my snakes, so, it is money well spent!

How about you guys?

Too much money, lol.

Over $500 on just my current snakes (doesn't include shipping or the snakes that died/were lost).

I can't even begin to tabulate how much it cost for 6 tanks (some were Craigslists finds, though), 6 heat pads, 2 thermostats, bedding, a kit'n'kaboodle of decorations, feeders, and misc. things like totes to transport them in and the 6-tier rack with heat that I just built...

But they are certainly worth every penny I spent. :}

$1215 for 8 corns...and traded my bow for 3 others. Probably $2500 on racks, tubs, thermostats, mice, etc. SCARY!

Yep, I probably will keep spending too... not sure how I will be able to resist $15 baby corns at the shows...

I can see how some people build their house around their reptiles. LOL

Self-built rack systems-$500
Feeders-$300
Corn snakes-$600
Ball Pythons-$3500
Bedding, Water Bowls, General Accessories-around $200

CANT THINK OF A SINGLE OTHER HOBBY THAT WOULD GIVE ME AS MUCH SATISFACTION!!!:crazy02:

Thousands!

nearly 3 grand in cages/racks/whatnot
Several more grand in morphs...like a pied and albino bp and more!

YIKES....

But yeah...if you love it, then it is worth a lot more than paper bills and credit card chills.

tank-25
bedding-7
food-5
accessories-30
heatpad-20
dimmer-10
themometer-10

moments with snake-priceless

for everything else theres mastercard. :D

Not including setups, mice, shipping, and other accessories (basically just the snakes) I've spent just under $400 on my 8 snakes. It's completely worth it, too! I'll probably end up spending more than that this year alone on snakes. ;)

Hmmmmmmmm Let me see we are just getting started but as it is we have 1 hand me down tank and set up that was bout 20 bucks and 35 on "the one that got away" then theres the 65 dollars we spent on Fox (the replacement) food and bedding for two years prolly bout 300 dollars there, we have upgraded so theres the 60 dollars on the new tank and toys uh oh the list is growing cause we are about to get another snake !! haha we love it !

Oh wow, Lets see..

$5400 in caging.
$11500 on boas.
$2000 on olives.
$4500 on carpets.

Probably would have never been able to get those figures, but I keep the invoices for EVERYTHING..

I even have all my feeder bills.. dating back to 2002, but thats just under a thousand, because I've been breeding my own colonies..

all in all... I passed up a nice car, or a down payment on a house to be in this hobby LOL

Probably somewhere between $5000-6000...I could get all my invoices and such, but they aren't exactly organized right now. They are worth it though. :D
