How's that hopey changy thing doin' for ya?

I don't expect Obama to turn the country around in one year. But one year is enough time to take the first step in the right direction. He hasn't done that yet.

Yeah, I agree with you guys. Still....he's batting 1000 compared to the last guy. That's all I'm saying. I won't vote for him in the primary if I like someone else better, but if he gets the nomination I will.

I've never liked the whole process of campaigning and "Running for President". Seems to me that anyone that wants the job that badly should be automatically disqualified.

I mean...it carries the heaviest load of responsibility of any job in the free world, doesn't pay a whole lot(comparatively speaking), and the benefits..well...alright there are some good benefits. I'll let you decide what sort of benefits there are. I'm sure we can all think of a couple we wouldn't mind experiencing for a cuople days, at least...

But ultimately, this has got to be the worst job in the world, if you do it right. Anyone that is truly qualified for the job...wouldn't want it, as they would not feel qualified to undertake it.

So we get stuck with a bunch of egomaniacal, sociopathic liars and cheats. Choose which one you dislike the least, and try to enjoy your life...:toiletgra

I don't agree. Campaigning is not automatically wrong. That's how we got some of the mods here. And we ended up with pretty good people.

....he's batting 1000 compared to the last guy.
Actually, he's not batting 1000 compared to anything yet. He hasn't done anything. The time for comparing him to Bush has come and gone, which is why you see his popularity numbers dropping like rocks. People were so grateful to be done with Bush they would have elected Chuckles the Clown as long as he was a Democrat.

I am still waiting for the change. It's not going to happen though. Obama does not have enough votes to pass anything. We are at a political stand still.

Looks like more of the same to me...

Well, I was being slightly facetious when I said it should be automatically disqualifying...

However, to be clear, only one of our current moderators actually campaigned. That's Jeff Mohr. And he wasn't elected in the first round. 2 out of three from the first round did not campaign, made damn fine moderators, and were elected because of who they are, not because of a campaign...and have since quit because the job is difficult, thankless, tiring, and demanding of one's responsibility for no pay...kind of like the Presidency.

NONE of our moderators "campaigned" except Jeff Mohr. And he campagined during the first "election" and was voted in during the second. Go figure...

No, he was installed by Rich Z. Nanci was voted in during the second election.

Correct. The only people that really had a say in Jeff's "election" was RichZ...and he said he talked to the current mods of the time to make sure they were OK with it.

I logged in just to be able to rep you for that one, Eric. Well worded. Kudos.

Almost as bad as a speech given to a bunch of pinkos, eh? ;)

Point taken! But the conservatives on this board, most of whom I consider friends, will have to forgive me if I decline to apologize for politically-motivated name-calling. ;)

Pinko doesn't bother me. :)
