Hey all, im wondering, what will this pair throw out?

Amel x Amel = ? All amels?

Male amel i dont know the background, although the female amel has snow mother/amel father.

Will i get amels and snows?

depending on hets:

100% amel 50%het anery in the f1 gen.

take those babies from the first breeding and if your lucky and choose the ones that where 50%poss het for anery and breed them together, then you should get:

75% amel (66% het anery)
25% Snow

these numbers are of course theoretical.

With unknown hets on the male I have to say yes, all you will get is amels, but they will be pos het anery because the mom is het anery (anery+amel=snow I'm sure you knew that)

Ok, so in basic terms, first clutch should be all amels, if i breed any hatchlings from the first clutch which may be het, then ill get anerys? and then i can get snows?

Or is there a possibility that i can get snows or anerys from the first clutch? depending on the males background?

You won't get anery's as amel is already there.
If youre male happenes to be het anery, you can get 1/4 snow in your first clutch.

If not, the hatchlings can be het anery (given by mom), but you won't be sure wich ones have it. So you can get snows in the F2 if you got the luck that the couple you choose (or couples) both are het anery.

Or you can just get a snow to breed with your female
Then you should get 1/2 amel het anery, 1/2 snow

So for my male to be het anery what does his background need? I can chase up the info hopefully!

Well if one of his parents is anything with homo anery you are safe with that. The most common are plain anery or snow.

From the pair you have you will get amel pos het anery. Get lucky enough to breed sibs with the het anery and you will get amels and snows.
