Calls to boycott Arizona are spreading like a virus

I just think it's funny Ms. Mack finds this an infringement of our liberties in the first place. I wonder where she stands on gay marriage or abortion huh? Like Fred said there is no where in the US where you do not need an ID. You want a license, bank account, buy a house, car, or even use a credit card you need an ID. To enroll in college, rent an apartment, get a job, or set up a utilities account you need an ID. So the next time I am asked for an ID I should proclaim this is an infringement of my liberties that the constitution does not support and see where that gets me:) This woman must be freaking kidding herself because she's not kidding me. Americans freedoms are, and should be different from the freedoms of an alien intruder just the same as it is for us abroad.

Email I got today:

JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal".
Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention...

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has
$31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has
$31,200...00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has
$24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has
$18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has
$9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $
31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has
$7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens, You are part of the problem!

It's way PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans!

What are you waiting for? Pass it on

Interesting huh...my disdain for them is growing each and every day.

And then another totally politically incorrect one from my Father in law who lives in Arizona:

Kinda wrong but its a good laugh to smother how fed up I am with all of the drama from people who support boycotting Arizona.

You want a license, bank account, buy a house, car, or even use a credit card you need an ID. To enroll in college, rent an apartment, get a job, or set up a utilities account you need an ID.

A driver's license is a choice. A bank account is a choice. Credit card, college. These are choices.

Now, in the US you need to present ID to buy a house, or a car, rent an apartment? Set up a utilities account? Is that true? Because then you already live in a 'paper's please' state (Ugh, I hate terms like that). It seems you've given up quite a lot of freedom in the US. As an aside, I'm curious, what is all this restriction based on personal identity supposed to be gaining you?

Back to the topic at hand, though: If you needed an ID to get a job, or rent an apartment, how are illegal aliens getting jobs and finding lodging? There aren't millions of illegals in the streets of California. I mean, I'm sure there's plenty, but certainly not most or even many of them.

Going back to my choices thing: you can exist quite well without constantly having to carry around proof that you are allowed to live where you live. At least I think you can. Unless you're trying to impress upon me that the US is not the bastion of freedom your government makes it out to be. I don't live in the US so I can only compare it to my experiences in Canada, and I don't fear not having my ID on me, except when I'm driving or transporting my rifles.

See, that's the thing. When I drive, if I do something to get a cop's suspicion, I have to prove that I have been trained to properly operate a motor vehicle. When I use my rifle and I do something to get a cop's suspicion, I have to prove that I have had training in order to properly operate a firearm. Both of these things are choices and by no means are required to live a happy life. Now you're telling me that it's okay that if you ever get a cop's suspicion, you have to prove that you have been granted permission to be on US soil, even if you've lived your whole life in one place? To me that idea is beyond the pale.

Ultimately, I've left my house once in the last 10 years without my keys, locking me out. I know plenty of people that have done it far more often. Your keys are very important, they allow you access to your home and without them you might find yourself with few options. If I, or any of these people I mention who occasionally forget things, visits Arizona for a holiday and leaves their passport behind in their hotel, just once, and does anything to draw a cop's attention (For example, looking too Hispanic) they'll end up arrested and imprisoned. I'm sure they'll be released eventually. You know. Once the cops are done treating them like a filthy illegal. But why take that chance?

Here's the rub. People can go to lots of places around the world where this scenario doesn't end up with arrest and detainment. Lots of places that are free. Why bother going to Arizona?

Honestly, I hope you all get the things that you want. I really do. But understand that most people don't want these things and the kind of sneering you have for these people shows just how important freedom really is to the average American.

Certainly, to rent an apartment, buy a car, or buy a house, picture ID is necessary. ID is required to apply for a job, 2 forms, one must be a Social Security Card and one a picture ID. I've never needed ID to set up an account with a utility. Now, I am sure there are less-than-legit landlords who don't ask for ID, and they probably rent to illegal immigrants who pay cash. There are less-than-honest employers who pay cash under the table & don't ask for ID. They employ illegal immigrants.

AND there are plenty of ways to get ID illegally, of varying qualities.

We live in a situation where private individuals (employers, banks, care dealers, landlords) can & do ask for "papers". What would be different with the AZ law is the POLICE saying "Papers, please" rather than private individuals. Some people don't see that as being a big deal. Some do.

Freedom x Security = Constant

Photo ID is not hard to obtain from the DMV.. Forged paper work is not hard to find in LA eithier.. I have heard that a forged GC can be had for about $2000 to boot.. You just need the right connections and a little bit of money to slip on by.. Which is really stupid because if you get deported once, the money you probably spent to get here with a coyote would have likely been enough to cover the costs associated with the INS paper work..*shrugs*

Here's the rub. People can go to lots of places around the world where this scenario doesn't end up with arrest and detainment. Lots of places that are free. Why bother going to Arizona?

*lol* You know what you read, your not livng your existance out here.. Your better off with your arm chair in Calgary as opposed to sticking your nose into politics that has nothing to do with you.. *lol*

Aaaand another interesting email from a police sergeant I know here:

Subject: From the L. A. Times

This was interesting.

This is only one State................If this doesn't open eyes, nothing will!

From the L. A. Times:

1. 40% of all workers in L. A.. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes.
This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centersare Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7... The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8 Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.. (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County .)

(All 10 of the above facts were published in the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth(and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens .

We are fools for letting this continue

If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will, and you wonder why Nancy Pelosi wants them to become voters!

*************************************

SHE NEEDS TO BE IMPEACHED!!!!!

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income:

Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read below................

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.

Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds!

Alas, it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!

This woman is frightening.

She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' (I am not rich, are you?)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:

'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 m illion illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities.Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.'
(Read that quote again and again and let it sink in.) 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'.

Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house!

I got 42,lol

Nova- yes it is true you have to use an ID to obtain housing, a job, an education, and many other things, but Canada is no different either. Especially in these days of identity theft it is important people can prove who they are before taking out loans, using their CC, or working and paying taxes- I have no problem with that and don't feel it impedes my freedom at all- it kinda guarantees it if you think about it. If someone using my name, SS#, and DOB can just go buy a home in my name taking out a huge loan how free would I be being responsible for their debt? If someone can just go withdrawal money from my bank account how free would I be with no funds?

I also disagree there are plenty of places in the world you can go without fear of arrest or detainment without an ID. If I cross the Canadian border without ID I will be arrested- the same applies all over the world and some countries would shoot on sight, lol The Arizona law only allows those who are breaking the law to be asked for ID, if none is present then yes they will be detained until the government can figure out who they are and where they belong- again that guarantees my freedom in the form of safety.

I also disagree there are plenty of places in the world you can go without fear of arrest or detainment without an ID. If I cross the Canadian border without ID I will be arrested

Probably not, but you will immediately be turned around be sent back to the US, which then is going to be a major pain because of no ID..

Nova fumbling..

I need to present Governemnt issued ID to pay my bill at the phone office, cash or CC...

There are plenty of people willing to take advantage the system.. Then you have Clown Houses as well, where you might have 15 to 20 and sometimes more people occuping a house, where normal it is comfortable for a four member family.. Day Labourers can pull in some good money, believe me, $20 can get a lot done.. *shrugs*

Danielle, my example wasn't trying to get into a country without ID, it was walking down the street in that country without ID. Also, purchasing a house and getting a mortgage are two separate actions. You absolutely need to prove your identity to get a mortgage, but do you need to present your ID to purchase a house with the money from that mortgage? Maybe. I've never bought a house.

I do know that I've never been asked for ID to rent an apartment or buy a car.

T&J, I'm not sure how you twisting and/or misunderstanding my words equates to me fumbling.

It doesn't really matter, though. Like I said, I hope you you get the things you want.

PS. T&J:

Your better off with your arm chair in Calgary as opposed to sticking your nose into politics that has nothing to do with you.

Is this forum for Americans only? I didn't know that. Just say the word and I'll respect that and stop posting.

I can't tell you to stop posting here, but I sure wouldn't miss you eithier..

T&J, I'm not sure how you twisting and/or misunderstanding my words equates to me fumbling.

Your fumbling because you really don't know or truely understand whats going on, because you have only read about it, never visited ( like a couple of weeks is enough to get a grip.. *lol* ) or even lived here.. Yes, your an arm chair critic that knows about everything.. Its a good thing you understand the impact this is having!

I can't tell you to stop posting here, but I sure wouldn't miss you eithier..

More passive aggressive waffling.

Either this board is international and invites the opinions of all members, or it does not. Since you seem to think you can determine who should and should not be posting then tell me if I am allowed to post here once and for all.

Nova this forum is open to all people. Any one who has something to say may do so. Even people who delight in being ignorant and offensive.

Canada must be quite a place if everyone is like you. All knowing with suggestions for everyone on ever topic.

I hardly ever post here anymore because everyone seems to think I post to much. All right.

Probably because you try to pontify your opinions, when you know only what you have read and never lived it, well,.....

More passive aggressive waffling.

Nope, I just don't like you..

Wade mentioned..

If I am taken with a grain of salt, people will actually find I am a rather delightful, and quiet person, just to bad I am Canadian Eh'... You said it nicer than I ever could have Wade..
