Field herping in So. OR.

We went for a hike today, and saw tons of Blue belly lizards (pictured) the first one was in the middle of the trail doing push ups for us lol I was able to catch a baby as well. saw a blue tailed skink but it was too fast for me to get a pic of. No snakes :( apparently they aren't very plentiful here, so idk why ppl are so afraid of them.

Sweet!! I like that last picture for a scale shot! That guy is tiny!

Also, you can edit thread titles now. Go to edit and info? Or something like that. I just recently did it.

Nice! Being from S Ore, I've done lots of herping there! I'm bummed you didn't see any Alligator lizards, Racers, or Garters as they used to be really plentiful back in the day...

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Alligator lizards are the mean ones lol. I have grown up in So. Oregon and I have seen very few wild (living snakes) anywhere here. Most the chickens, cats or cars have killed before I got to see them. Maybe that's why I like them so much now ;)

Cool! We have those in Central Oregon as well. My 12-year-old son caught one and keeps him as a pet. Here's a belly shot:

Cool Wendy. My Best friends in grade school would catch them up at the lake and I kept one as a pet for a while, but I think I let it go eventually.
