THIS IS WHY

yes I do even if it wasn't mentoined 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times but still if he did get then he would have released it because his"buddy" said it was okay

He probably never even intended to get one. Just wanted to brag a bit and make himself seem like such an awesome person compared to us wimpy owners of tame little corns.

yea probrly but just look at the second one:eek:

I don't think a tragic accident warrants an outright ban. Do you realize how many people are killed by things that are not snakes every year? (be it automobiles, dogs, bikes, staircases, marbles, peanut butter, etc...).

I don't see any outcries to ban peanut butter from personal use.

Omgz I read on of the links of the 2nd one and it upsets me sooooo much with stupid tards throw off on snakes and say *we keep them so we seem cool* or one guy said that if you let a snake lose it wont come back but a dog or cat will because there ment to be pets. I love where one guy was like well if you let your fish go would it come back? I mean its very very said a 2yearold was killed but why dont people flip this much when a dog kills a kid.

'
Because a snake is "Icky"

I don't know about the 2nd one. I wouldn't rule out the intent of the parents. I know I will get some slack for it. But I mean what better way for some crazy person or persons parent or other wise to use something to take the blame where no one will cast a shadow on the real culpurit? Sorry if this makes some people mad.

IIRC investigations were done which revealed, as people already suspected, that the boyfriend and mom killed their child and framed the snake.

I always suspected that from the first day. But I have never seen any official acknowledgment of it as fact. I can't seem to find any updates confirming it from Google. Could you point me to any links confirming those findings?

Thanks!

No, I remembered the article wrong. It said it convicted both parents of murder and some other crime, negligence or something, but it was for allowing the snake to be in an enclosure that it could escape from, despite offers from damn near everyone who knew them to buy them a locking cage.

It still makes me suspicious though; I don't think a burm as small as the one they had would recognize a 2-year old as food. The only thing I found on the cause of death was asphyxiation, and that doesn't rule out the parents strangling the child themselves... I guess we just have to trust the autopsy doctors as knowing the difference?

yea I mean it's only 8 ft not huge

If that is the story I remember looking up a while back, that snake was horribly malnourished and very thin. I doubt it would have been able to eat a child. It may have been 8ft long, but it was sadly thin. Also I remember hearing that the bites on the child were more like defensive bites than "I'm going to eat you!" bites.

yea I didn't read to much of the story

BUMMER!

I was suspicious because I heard the 911 report on the news. Evidently the dad found the snake on the child, and instead of just pulling the little 8' snake off, went to find a knife to stab it. Really suspicious!

I suspect the pathologist (or whoever did the autopsy) only looked far enough to find some evidence of some damage done by the snake - which could have been aided by the parents. It is what was expected, and probably the only thing looked for. I was really hoping that you had unearthed some kind of official confirmation of my suspicions. Too bad...the truth may never be known. Of course, if it ever does come to light that the death wasn't caused by the snake, it will be on page 45 of the newspaper, not the front page as before.

Yep. But I can't understand why. "Druggie parents frame innocent family pet in filicide!" is a much more eye-catching article than "PET PYTHON STANGLES 2-YEAR OLD"

I saw the new(ish?) Animal Planet show yesterday about people who have "killer" pets, and the episode was about a lady who kept venomous snakes. She apparently was quite experienced but also emotionally involved with the snakes (ie, they're my babies, they won't hurt me). I think she had quite a few venomous, get bit by one (by being stupid) and died in her house. When she was found several days later, the police decided the best way to determine which snake bit her was to decapitate all of them to match the fang marks. If it was obvious she was bitten by a snake and already dead, what difference does it make which snake bit her? (It was the gaboon viper, my favorite hot).
