just thought id share some of my snakes, this is just a small part of what i have the rest are shedding or laying, or grumpy and don't want there photo took.
The first half looks like a normal Pin Striped Motley, but then the second half almost looks cubed. I love the dots that have been left behind by the reduced pattern. Do you know if it has one Motley gene one Stripe gene?
Anyway, beautiful snakes. They are all so clean and crisp. Thanks for showing us the pictures.
Your snakes are so fat! Some of them even look like they have hips. XD What are you feeding/how often? I'm willing to bet it's too much.
thanks for the kind words
yes he is a proven ghost motley stripe
you can't say that, you don't know any thing about me or my snakes, are you always this rood or are you just having a bad day (have you got a pineapple up your ass ? is that what makes you so unpleasing to the whole human race)
Woah.
Ok, first of all cool your jets, I didn't mean to sound rude and I'm sorry if I came off that way. But even if I did, reacting like that would just start an argument so yeah.
That snow (fourth picture down) has visible "hips". Pockets of fat near the vent area that are indicative of obesity in snakes. Being overweight and obesity can lead to many health problems including liver issues, heart disease, poor muscle development, etc. Here is the generally accepted feeding plan for corn snakes. This is referring to mice.
-When they're on single pinks (2-3g), I feed every 5-6 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 6-7 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (20-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+) See below.
Note: Adult females are fed more frequently than adult males (especially following brumation). Adult females are fed every 7-12 days; adult males are fed every 11-14 days.
This is by no means scientific, and not all corns will cooperate 100% with the schedule. The weight ranges I gave for the prey and snakes are approximate.
I only even bring this up because of the possible health problems (which you may not see evidence of for a long time, so just because they're alive now doesn't mean their risk of health problems isn't greater!) and I'd hate to hear about your snakes living short lives or dying "mysteriously" of a fatty liver you know? Again, I'm sorry if I've come across as rude as that was not my intent.![]()
To be fair, you could have just told me that instead of getting offended. But I guess the way I worded my first post was blunt so I'm sorry. I'm glad you rescued them and I hope they loose weight nicely for you.![]()
