Hi there,
My input stems directly from a gentlemen across the pond that posted photos of his 2011 toffee striped bloods and pointed out a phenotypic indicator that has proved to work 100% of the time so far with all the animals in my collection. It isn't the color bleed that you should be looking for, as I've seen multiple striped animals with what you'd call bloodred ventral color, but instead you want to be looking for translucent or clear patches running down the center of the ventral scales. The amount of translucence will differ for each scale, but that seems to be the consistent marker for diffused. If you have a diffused animal, pick it up, turn it over and look for the clear pattern on the ventral scales. Using this marker as a means to identify stripes from bloodred stripes should make it a much easier process, and should allow you to answer your question as to whether or not your gorgeous snake is homo diffused or not. I hope this helps.
