hello, i just noticed my baby snake is a bit... stinky :toiletgra
should i give him a bath or so? or is that no good for the snake? thanks :eatpointe
oh yes and he is a bit sticky too

Nanci has been known to rinse her snakes off under running tap water. Be warned though the water should feel more cool than warm. Also wet snakes are slippery, so you might want to use the drain stopper! The damp paper towel should take care of the problem though.

I just did that with my snake but he really didnt like it, he almost became crazy when I turned on the water :p so i tried with wet paper towel and he didnt had any problems with that, he even loved it! :p now he is sweet andnot stinky :) thanks for answers

Stinky snake, too funny!
I have a book (albeit outdated by a few years) on milk snakes that suggests rinsing your snakes with tap water every MONTH! As in when you do the routine cage cleaning. Interesting... not sure but I think I'll wait until my snakes get stinky too ;) Good luck OP.

is the cage messy? I know mine smell horrid if I wait too long to clean up the bedding.

I second that! Do a spot cleaning every few days, although mine only go once a week. I usually let it dry before plucking the lump out of the viv, and wipe down the glass or scrub the decoration or water bowl if they were a casualty of the mess. My Gus loves to poop on the side of his waterbowl. It is not a smooth surface and I have to use a really stiff bristled brush to clean it.

My other snake is much less stinky, I think it is because she is a girl. Boys are stinky and girls smell pretty. At least that is what I learned in 1st grade. ;)

hahahahaha!! hmm i only got him for about 2 weeks so there are 2 dry dejections in the cage :p i will clean the viv in a week or so, and i washed my snake with wet towel paper yesterday and now he don't stink anymore :)) thanks for advice!

I wash snakes off under room temp running water if they have Nutribac or mouse juice on them. I worry about bacteria getting into their water bowls. They are afraid the first time, but if you have a baby who is getting Nutribac at every meal for a regurge protocol, after two or three showers, they couldn't care less.
