Okay, this MAY be graphic...

I was feeding Melody and when I was holding her, she tried to eat the palm o my hand. Multiple times. I thought she'd bite again if I rubbed it on my fingers, and she bit me. She latched on and started to ACTUALLY EAT ME. She started to move her mouth over my finger and bite harder. It actually started to hurt a little bit. Since when to baby corn bites hurt?! After I actually gave her a mouse, she tried to bite my hand in the viv! I pried her off before she could. This is her eating my finger.

By the way, I had to drop some water on her head to get her off.

Cat I must say, I did laugh and honestly, I think its F-ing adorable.....

Now with that said, being I am a fairly new snake owner and have not been bit, how do you follow up with a bite that breaks skin? Just clean it well like any other cut/bite or because its an animal is there something special we should do? What is the "proper treatment?"

It never hurts to wash the affected area well and put a little neosporin on it. Most of the time the bites that do break the skin bleed a lot for their size, which helps to remove bacteria, but following basic hygiene is good.

The "proper treatment" Nanci means is liberal application of something alcoholic, by mouth, as soon as you can.:rofl:

Wash the wound, drink a lot of alcohol to kill the germs. ;-)
