So I found this on Kijiji....this person is feeding two snakes in the same tank. AND keeping a male and female yearling in the same tank. Just a recipe for disaster.

So, do you deep fry them or go with a lower fat version by baking them? And it is bad etiquette to spit out the beard part or is that considered a delicacy?

I'm a fan of deep friying things but I'm sure there are a few possible ways to do it. Can't speak for the beard part lol. I think they might be pretty tasty with a bit of cheese grated on top of them.

She'll be lucky to get 10% of what she's asking. I could start a thread with the crazy things people call my pet shop hoping to sell me, and their insane asking prices.
 
I wish I had back when I sold animals, we got tons then. My favorite (sarcasm) was when someone would want to sell me a big burm, green iggy, pacu fish, etc. for a small fortune, I'd say no, they'd call back with a cheaper asking price, I'd explain I don't sell those animals and couldn't take them for free, then one morning they would be in a box or bucket at my front door when I got to work.

And then this week, someone tried to give me a corn snake! It was an obese male snow. I told her I couldn't take it, and she was stunned! "But I thought you bred corn snakes!"
 
Yes please! That could be fun.

I've sold things to pet stores a couple of times. Fish. Both times I walked in to a place that I knew had a good fish department and said "how much will you give me for these?" and took whatever they offered. "Insane asking prices" just never entered my mind. Perhaps I should try it. :D
 
As a supply store, we get those calls less frequently. And when I do, I make sure to tell them the reason is b/c I don't sell live animals. That has significantly cut down on doorstep babies.
 
I've only sold baby snakes to a pet store once. We were moving here to SC and I still had about a dozen babies left from my clutch. I knew the people at the local petshop, knew they took good care of their reptiles and I had been buying frozen mice from them for years. They gave me a good price for the babies as I had sexed them all and they had the feed/shed records on all of them. I don't usually sell like that though. If I can't sell them to private owners or breeders then I don't produce more.
 
This has been listed for months, it started out at $20. Do I hear $5? How about $3? Will someone toss this in the trash for me?
