Snakes in designer genes
Last night was a great night for snake feeding! I feel like most of my fussy feeders are taking steps forward every time they're offered food. I'm now not force feeding *any* babies, and the smaller ones have gone from looking delicate and pathetic to looking like well muscled, happy little snakes
Three of my babies who have only ever eaten live multimammates took defrost multis last night. Still somewhat the wrong species, but as I really detest live feeding, it's a step forward .. at least it means I can just defrost food for them on feeding night, rather than having to root through cages looking for new babies when they're due fed.
I also did some anole scenting for the first time in a while (all my ex-anole scented are now eating unscented). Both of the babies I tried it with are younger than the rest of them - one I bred, another we are just looking after for a friend until we get her feeding properly. Both have eaten defrost, but then decided against it, and refused for weeks on end with all the normal tricks. And both devoured their anole scented pinkies without a problem - god bless you Mr Anole who lives in my freezer, you're a livesaver many times over!
