Scottish scenery...

I shoot JPEG too - no worries!
I am really enjoying seeing all of these - giving me motivation to go out this weekend and shoot although my scenery won't be nearly as spectacular!

I'm headed out this weekend myself. The Eagles are landing this weekend and with the weather supposedly running into the low 60s, they should be active. They winter here in So. IL until March.

I need to get ahold of my daughter to see if she has to work. Maybe I should take the manual to my camera to work with me and sneak some peeks :)

I shoot with a Canon Powershot S2, the same camera that Lore uses. I bought it based on her pictures, I just can't get the pictures that she does... though I got some okay ones when I borrowed my daughter's Rebel XT. Maybe I can borrow it for the Eagles.... hmmmmmmmmmm

Is that where Williams Wallace defeated the English?(in a thick Scottish accent) You are an amazing photographer, never stop.

I have never used a digital canon... but I would deffinatley pick the SLR over the compact.

Be sure to post all your photographs!

A DSLR is going to be my next purchase. This was what I could afford at the time and you can additional additional lenses on it. I have a macro and a telephoto for it, although I don't think I have the right adapter for the macro as I can't get it to fit...sigh...

I just knew Lore got good pictures and so I went with that. I'm probably a month or so down the road from one though... Christmas took a big chunk out of my bank account :)

Elle - you have such a great eye for photography. But a good eye doesn't do any good if you can't use the equipment, and you clearly are a master of that as well.

Great photos!!

Glencoe is an amazing place, and is also home to the finest whisky and Ales pub/tavern that i have/will ever go to,

can't remember what its called though ;) could be due to the 'Heather Ale' i was drinking, or the whisky that was described in their whisky menu as having a hint of pencil sharpenings! lol very tasty

A hint of pencil sharpenings??? Haven't tasted that since kindergarten :)

OMG Elle, The pictures are out of this world and I agree, they should be printed and sold. My favorite is the lone tree, sitting amongst all of the beauty surrounding it. WOW Keep up the good work

I like the colored, mountainy, foggy, snowy ones the best. What's the red stuff under the deer? It's beautiful there.

Well I have always said your camera just doesn't matter... Even if you have the most expensive camera in the world with the biggest lens you can still take bogus pictures.

I wouldn't touch Scottish whiskey... even I'm scared of our dark spirits LOL

I wouldn't like to get a head of myself... these are my very first outdoor shots and I just know if I keep going back I can get even better shots. But thank you very much!

Ironically, that was my least favorite of the photos.

Elle, these are simply amazing and entirely beautiful!

BRAVA!!!

regards,
jazz

The picture sucks technically, however I thought it was pretty cool to see the dogs out doing what they loved. So I snapped it just for you!

I don't actually have an answer to that Nanci, I never paid much attention to it. I was standing on a muddy rocky bank and was sinking quite rapidly... theres was only one thing on my mind - GET A DECENT SHOT! LOL

Heres some B+W's (With a watermark for Deviant art). This is hands down my favourite kind of photography...

Oh don't be silly! You have been into photography far longer than me missus. You just need to shake off the dust. We can go on a Glasgow shoot or something? I haven't been let lose on city centre with my camera yet.
