Barack Obama- First of all he has hardly any political experience. Secondly this country is definitely not ready to elect a Muslim President. And make no mistake about it---he is a muslim. His middle name is Hussein. He does not pledge allegience to the flag---in fact, he turns his back to it. What the hell type of Commander in Chief is he going to make?

Barack Obama is a Muslim?

I want Obama to win. I don't care about race, or religion I think he's a great guy to be president, and I think he will def. be better than Bush.
On the other hand, I also wouldn't mind if Hillary won, she has alot of experience, but she will probably be JUST like her husband... which dunno if that's a good thing.

I thought this was about who we thought would be the republican and democratic candidates, not who we'd vote for. I wouldn't vote for either of my two "winners."

My ideal would be either Obama as pres and Clinton as vice, or the reverse. I did like Edwards last time around, but I really feel he should be spending time with his wife.
As for Mitt Romney being a Morman what does that have to do with his ability to be president. This was the same arguement with Kennedy, he was Catholic.
I don't think Obama is a Muslim but again so what, most predsidents have some religous affilation.
As for McCain having served in armed forces, so did my Dad but that wouldn't make him a good president. I would hope it would make McCain more understanding of what families sacrifice when they send a loved one to war.

Great post, I totally agree with you.

I wonder if corn snake owners are a good cross section of America... We seem to have liberals, conservatives, and so on from what I have read so far in this thread. I'll be curious as to how accurate we are!
Good thread so far not too much bickering or soap box lecturing.

I am voting for Ralph in 08

:-offtopic, but not really.....

I want to take a baseball bat to the creators of the Google Ads you see at the top of this thread....

"CELEBS PICK....WHO DO YOU LIKE?"

If you're basing your vote on who Oprah or Chuck Norris is voting for, you have no right to vote.

"IS HILLARY THROUGH?"

Um, do you want her to be? Kind of presupposes the question, no?

Harrumph. The decline of critical thought in this country will doom us before the terrorists will.

< /soapbox> ;)

Dale, one of these days I have GOT to make sure you and hubby have a long conversation with me just listening. I have a feeling that it will be VERY interesting as well as entertaining.

I think Hillary will get the dem nom and she might win. I dunno about repubs, maybe McCain.

Obama is not Muslim, and the thing about not pledging is an email lie almost as successful as "forward this and Bill Gates will send you a check". Check facts, people.

I honestly think they are all pretty horrible. My politics are pretty much all over the place, though. Where do you find a pro-life, anti-war, anti-death penalty, pro-school choice, pro-welfare, pro-universal health care, anti-school-prayer, anti-censorship candidate? You don't. :(

.....
I would vote for the no right to vote clause! Just kidding, everyone has the right, but it definitely does not bode well for our political process. You know those votes happen too frequent in electioneering. I over heard a woman at dinner the other day that was literally quoting all her commentary from celebs. "blah blah blah well George Clooney thinks ... and I heard Julia Roberts on the View ... and Rosie O'Donnell believes ..." I thought to myself there is one vote that should not count.

Study the candidates well for when they are elected they will be in control of the smoke-filled room and the new figure of bossism.

I am hoping Obama wins. I don't know what I am going to do if it is Hucklebee v. Clinton. Maybe throw myself in front of a truck to avoid having to make that choice.... :bang:

And just what has Obama proved in his ~2 years in office that would make him capable of running the country?

Has ANYBODY proved in the last 20 years that they could run the country? :shrugs:

No matter who is voted in..........guaranteed to happen is this:

1. Nobody will be happy
2. Promises won't be kept
3. We (USA) will continue to get involved in everybody else's affairs and not pay attention to our own troubles.
4. The "Decline of Western Civilization" will prevail

It's inevitable. That's why I quit voting 12 years ago......it doesn't matter. Hell, Cheech OR Chong would be just as qualified to lead this nation.
