Ha ha makes you almost have a heart attack! Good thing the snake was elsewhere! Cute pictures though! I know that "what" look - Luke is so good at looking at me like I'm crazy...
 
LOL I am not sure what is with cats and Strange Boxes. Every time I brought home a new fish tank my black cat and to lay in it first.

The best part is, ifyou look at the 2nd pic....he never even noticed there was a snake right behind him.
 
My cat did the same thing about a week ago, little bugger. Luckily my corn was in his feeding tub as well.
 
I have a 20 gal that sits open, I use it for breeding, and one of my cats likes to hang out in it. She even tried to hop in while snakes were "busy". I did have the lid on it at that time, but I don't know who it scared more, me, the cat or the snakes when she hit the wire lid and bounced off.
 
Great story! And you captured the "what?" cat expression perfectly! I also love it when cats do something really stupid, like falling off the sofa while sleeping, and immediately give you the "I MEANT to do that!" look before you even start laughing.
 
And that is exactly why I never leave the tank uncovered when I walk out of the room.
I came back once to our kitten in my 55 gallon tank, I thought I was going to keel him :eek:

LOL I had a curious kitty one time jump in my Turtle tank. lol He learned his lesson really fast when he found 12 inches of water. Made a hell of a mess in my room but still it was humorous.
 
He could care less about snakes, I think the bowl in there made him think I had set him up a little play area though LOL he got mad and ran out of the room with aspen stuck to his behind.
 
That is horrible and hilarious at the same time!! I'm sorry to say I don't think I would have reacted so calmly.
Here's a pic of my new amel I brought home two days ago, with my 13 pound cat staring him down. They just sat and looked at each other like, "How you doing?" It was so funny. Not quite as frightful, but you reminded me of that pic.
(By the way, my new Amel, Zeppelin, is not in that dinky 10 gallon. It's what the previous owner had him in. That little thing will be used for my daughter's new frog.)

I would kill my cat! Too funny!

I took the dog for a walk and left the back window open with just the screen in. It was a windy day and the screen fell out and I caught my cat just sitting in the window like she didn't even know the screen was gone.

daneale777, zeppelin is the COOLEST name, because led zeppelin obviously rocks! going to see a great led zeppelin cover band tomorrow night too.

I am jealous. Very cool.
I've decided to go with "Z" names, for some reason. My baby snow (my love) is named "Zen"; my hypo is finally getting a permanent name, "Zena," like the Warrior Princess, and my new one is "Zeppelin".
Good theory, I thought.
