Short and Sweet
Well my little girl anole passed away yesterday - she's was doing better and then she stopped eating again and wouldn't start no matter what I did.
:( so RIP Clara.

I am so sorry to hear. Sometimes no matter what you do, Death is determined to take them. She'll be waiting at the Bridge.
RIP Dear Clara.

Aw, that's too bad. Are they very long-lived? I have them all over my yard.

I think on average 6-7 years. But the ones that are pets, 3-5, they are adults when we buy them any way. I have a particular female for about 4 years now. Roaming around a screen in cage.

My goal was to have a 250 gallon reptiariaum screen cage and have a small colony in there with a bunch of live plants. But sadly, I do not have the room.

By the way this is a great site about anoles... http://www.kingsnake.com/anolecare/

Just like what was said 3-5 years average as pets. I rescued my two (one of which as the female that passed away) from a woman who's son had them for years and then left for college - they were at least three years old when I got them, she had kept them in a tiny pretzel jar and so the one that passed away wasn't in good shape to begin with - I seperated them and put them in much larger containers - the male is doing great, but the female never really recovered. Could have been old age too I suppose, I know the woman had them for at least three years but who knows how old they were when she got them.

I've been thinking about Clara all day. I have an anole out at Fort Tort that I saw a lot today- he's easy to recognize since he hasn't shed his head yet, and has a Grey Skull! He started out on the bench, then moved to the table and tried to bask, then jumped over to the wall of the Fort (I was hoping Isabel wouldn't try to eat him!) and then ran around to the right. This evening, I saw him way over on the left side. They are so cool.
