Got my first clutch of eggs for 2008

First clutch was laid on 04/02. 100% fertile, so that is a good sign... Got a BUNCH of girls in the process of their pre-egg laying shed right now. Going to be a mad house around here by the end of June.

Got most of the females bred, but still some stragglers. Maybe 25 or so that I'm not even going to bother to breed because they didn't get moved to larger cages yet. I tried to keep the number of new projects started this year down to the bare minimum, but there were a few things I did want to get started. I've got WAY too many keepers from last year, as it is....

Almost have my taxes done. Got it whittled down where I only have to pay part of an arm and part of a leg, and not the complete appendages. I believe that all of those people responsible for this monstrosity called "the tax code" should be sprayed with sugar water and then tied down on top of a fire ant mound. :smash: EVERY line requires yet another FORM to be filled out! :madeuce:

Since you're moving right along, we could expect an updated 2008 list and a 50%-off right-out-of-the-egg sale to be ready soon, right?...:sidestep:

LOL Susan likes to live dangerously :D

And Chaos begins :) Congrads on the first of many, many, many fertile eggs :D

Price list? Oh, is it 2008 already? I didn't notice....

Good luck this season, boss! My first two clutches of the season are about to be dropped any minute. They're from the same two females that went first last year: a Serpenco blizzard and a Serpenco pewter. Those Serpenco charcoal girls like to get things done early! :D

Yeah, used to be my Blizzards were always the first to drop. This year it was a Hypo Motley possibly het for Caramel (Amber).

It was interesting to note that certain racks in certain parts of the room obviously cycled in earlier than the females in other sections of the room.

I've also altered my technique with how I arrange the match making to see how that influences fertility. When working with a very large number of animals with a limited window of opportunity, time management becomes pretty important..... And some techniques will likely work better than others.

Congrats Rich! I can't wait to see what this season has in store for us. I will be going nutts come june as well... Except my end will be purchasing!

So when is YOUR book coming out with all these secrets and helpful hints?

Book? Hah! I'm just glad that I never wrote one years ago. How many things might I have written in it that are no longer accurate?

Heck, I've always had more questions than answers about all this stuff.... :shrugs:

:bang: And the next two clutches were ALL infertile....... :grabbit:

I keep waiting for the year that Murphy really kicks me in the groin and puts me out of business. It has happened to other people.........

You out of business??? That would be a very, very sad day. :(

Plus, 2 infertile clutches out of 1489 doesn't seem all that bad. :shrugs:

No, that doesn't sound bad. But 2 out of the first 3 is a kick to the shin.... 66 percent infertility for the entire year would definitely put me out of the picture.... I doubt that will happen, but it's not impossible.

I replaced all the A/C units in the reptile building recently and don't know if the temps may have gotten out of whack at the wrong time. Plus I am trying something different with the breeding schedule. And using a lot of young breeders for the first time this year.

Yeah, the opportunity is there............

any of your remaining 2007's going on sale???? I'm too poor, I'm with Susan on the discounts!!!!:sobstory:

Not planning on lowering the price on the 2007s. They will sell like hotcakes at Expo if I still have them in August.

Actually I think I need to go through all my keepers and weed out some of them. Got WAY too many to even think about keeping them all for future breeders......
