General advice to TROLLS...

snakewispera snr

The Devils Advocate
Hi guys...We tend to have TROLLS come around every month or so. Some are quite good at it, but lately the standard has gone down a bit.
Here's some help for all would-be TROLLS....Start by doing some research..(the guys and gals on here are quite expert, so they spot you a mile off) It's better if you know the subject you are trying to spam, you'll get more mileage out of it.
Co-hab is a good one to start a long debate, and co-hab feeding will get your thread into the 50-60 post mark real quick.
These are just two ideas to help beginner TROLLS to get started...
If anyone has any more ideas to help bring up the standard of C.S. TROLLS feel free to add them....

Bump up your post count with lots of pointless comments like "Hey yeh cool snake!!" and "Good luck with that!!" and "I dont know cus I never seen that but hope it works out ok!!"

Not only will that make you look like a seasoned board member at first glance, but it will increase up your rep power to give you spurious kudos and an undeserved sense of achievement.

Wow! Lots of good advice here! It should be a STICKY. Then you could easily post a link to it in all of the NEW troll threads!
:laugh01:
Thats not a bad idea....Then we could run a score system for TROLLS...
THE TROLL LEAGUE....
How far can they TROLL before DEANO zapps them...

Sounds like fun!

Not only could we elevate their post quality, but they could entertain us much better, too. If they were entertaining enough that we REALLY enjoyed their presence, they would probably get bored and leave!

If you want to be a good troll, list every single animal(including humans) that resides in your house, in your signature. People love seeing that.

Tip: Don't over use one or more of the smilies. Don't use the smilies randomly for no reason. :flames: That one has been over used WAY to much in the past.

Give advice, lots of it, on topics you have no experience with firsthand but have read about. Make sure you find similar posts by members who DO know what they are talking about and paraphrase them. Repeat periodically as needed.

Here are a couple more:

1) Post on any subject with absolute confidence and authority, regardless of how little you know.

Zen-like levels of Corn Snake knowledge can be gained by:
* Owning a hatchling for two weeks.

* Reading other people's posts for a few days - preferably in response to your own posts entitled "OMG i hav an Cornsanke and dont no wat to do !!?"
(N.B. verbatim repetition of information previously supplied by other people, is encouraged)

* When challenged, loudly asserting that you have read several books
(N.B. There is no need to actually do this)

2) You can greatly increase your standing in the community, by actively arguing with board members who have over 20 years' experience of Corn keeping. Ensure this involves both PMs and Chat, as well as board posts, for maximum awareness.

3) If anyone makes a post disagreeing with you, report them to the Moderators. It always pays to have them on-side.

It's also good if you can claim your *mate* has a snake way above any recorded record....That always impresses the more experienced members...

Good thread summer is coming.
Always hope I get in there and slam you that adds at least a page of 'bad susan'.
Take on one of the mods 'Dean' take it right to the edge with him.
Never say 'well I read on the internet some people feed 4-5 times a week' we may make you find that quote.

When one of the more experienced members calls you out on bad advice you've given, stand your ground and fight your corner, at least until you are proved wrong with facts and/or quotes and then backtrack very quickly :)

Don't forget, try to stay clear of the guy with the itchy banning finger :grin01:
