Eating during Blue

I looked online, and i used the search option. I know this might be a dumb question, but i couldn't find an answer and i don't know the answer. So don't jump all over me for asking. With that said, can anyone tell me if it's ok to feed my snake while she's in blue(about to shed)? I read that feeding during sheds can cause regurgitation, and i don't want that. Any information or links would be great, thanks in advance.

Three of my four eat in blue with no issues whatsoever. It seems to be an individual behavior from what I've read here. The consensus seems to be that if it's feeding time, offer the food. If the snake declines, then you know that you should probably wait rather than waste another prey item next time. It won't hurt the snake to wait a few days or a week or however long it takes them to shed.

She ate like a champ. With no problems. Seemed like she wasn't sure what it was till she got right on top of it, and then she went to town. she's now 10g, gained 2g in a week.

Excellent! They don't see as well during shed, so that might be why she hesitated, but it's great that she ate. I like that mine do as well so I don't have to go off their feeding schedule. It won't hurt them, but at my age one less thing to remember is always a plus. ;)

With my snakes I had one that would eat during the blue cycle and another that wouldn't so it's up to the snake. But this "behavior" has change with the age of the snakes. Go figure.

I just had a little one regurge after a meal, confused the heck out of me, cause it's always been a great feeder.. Then looking around the cage I saw a fresh shed. Sometimes I just don't notice when they are in blue. All my yearlings digest fine in blue, but I wouldn't knowingly offer the little ones food while in blue, just because in the off chance that they do they can get started on that roller coaster. I distinctly remember another thread where I was all cavalier saying, "I always feed, no biggy!" and Dean was the voice of caution, lol. Well live and learn, that happened to me with some babies in 07, and now once in 08...

BTW, I'm pretty confident that my little one is going to be fine next feeding, he'll just have to wait a little longer till his next feed..

Now that you mention that, Tom..I do vaguely remember people suggesting using caution with the babies in blue. Thanks for that reminder!

i wasn't aware that our rep power really meant anything. I don't even know who or how i got my 27, but i'm happy i've got it.
