I have been trying to ID this color for a few year now. I was thinking Volcano, but the belly color does not match. What do you think.

Yup, nice classic normal.

I have never heard of a "volcano" corn. Am I missing something?

If you do a search, their are two threads on Volcano. I think it started in Canada. Some of the red bleeds in to the white on the belly and it is a selectively bred color.

I think your "volcano" is Bloodred. Does the belly of the morph you're thinking of look like this?

Volcano must be a very old trade name, even among the Canadian members I have never heard it mentioned.

Very beautiful normal. It is normal for there to be different looking normals in the clutch sometimes. But I think you picked a very pretty one that will grow up with some very nice colors.

No, it still has the black and white belly.

This what i fond on Volcano Corns on another thread form "05"

Here is Volcano Corns.....
It seems there has been a lot of debate surrounding the origin of this particular strain of cornsnake. It is my pleasure to finally attempt to clear up some of the confusion here.
What is a Volcano corn? It is a pure cornsnake that is a deep red, or orange colour. This Strain retains its dorsal blotches, but loses most or all of its ventral checks, and the belly turns a uniform red.
Some people speculate that it is simply an outcrossed Bloodred. I purchased the original female as a wild-caught adult in 1995 at a pet store in Ottawa. I was impressed by her excessive red and thought she would be a perfect match for another "high red" corn I purchased in 1994 in Orlando, Florida. I picked the male up at a League of Florida Herpetecultural society monthly meeting. The fellow whom I bought this animal from (I don't think I ever got his name, or a receipt!) had the father of the clutch with him. He too, was very red. I asked about the possibility of Bloodred genes, and I was informed that both of these parents were wild-caught, so it was unlikely.
So, it is in my humble opinion, that the Volcano corn is a regular corn with excessive erythrophores. (red pigment.) This type of selective breeding is no different than that of an "Okeetee", or "Miami phase". If there IS Bloodred in this trait, who cares?! It is a beautiful snake that breeds true, and in the interest of marketing, deserves a name. I feel that a "trade name" should reflect the appearance of the animal you are ordering, and I think the Volcano corn speaks for itself.
If anyone has any further questions or ideas, please E-mail
me.
Thanks,
DARREN
ps we are breeding them into blood red and other types of corns to see wher they will tack us in the near futcher thanks for all the kind wordswhat i have found on Volcano Corns on another thread from "05"

Here is a photo i fond to show how their is the black white checker and the red "bleeding" in to the white.

I just wanted to show some up date photo's of the "06" male hold back. I just love his color. I think that he has more red on him than his mom did at that age. His mom will be bred to a bloodred next year. It would be nice to bring back an old school bloodred corn.
