Am I just lucky

I have this new colony set up 3 females to 1 male, they are pews. Every female got pregnant. The first just had her litter of 13, the second had 6 yesterday. They have piled the babies and all three females are nursing them, even the one due in a few days. They seem to be sharing the babies, even the dad seams to be looking after them. Only two were eaten. Did I just get lucky with this colony or is this the norm?

Yeah, rats and mice typically use the auntie system if there's more than 2 to a tub. Good mommies are keepers.
Once you set them up and it works, leave them alone!

Actually, make sure you move each snake to a separate enclosure. They don't do well together due to stress and well, potential pregnancy.
Once done, you should/need to incubate the eggs for any chance of survival...

Actually, the discussion is on feeder mice, not snakes. ;)

Caz is correct, once you establish a colony, try not to mess with it. :)

LOL!!! How did I miss that?! I apologize and feel very embarrassed. I must admit that the post was a little confusing for "snake" behavior.

Again, my apologies for not understanding which animal we were discussing.
