i have two baby cornsnakes each 20 inches long in a 10 gallon tank. i do not know the sex of them and bought them at different pet stores. they have been together now for 2 weeks and i have seen them curled around each other various times.

Is it ok to keep them in thier tank together now, and when i move the 2 of them both into a 40 gallon in a couple weeks. does the sex matter although its unknown. i am assuming they are both females or both males because thier tails feel the same??. i geuss are they territorial when in heat, or do they go in heat?!?
 
Do a search for cohabbing. It is very highly recommended to separate as soon as possible. I have personally lost a snake due to cohabbing (cannibalism).
The easiest way to get them sexed is to find a breeder or reptile store near you.
 
You might be able to get away with it for a while but it's not a good idea. Kind of like walking around in a thunderstorm carrying a metal pole...
 
You never know.. when the little buggers are going to be hungry in the last 1-2 day of your feeding schedule, after all they're WILD reptiles. It happens and you'll regret it when it does LOL

I don't think one person doing it for one year is enough to say it's ok....
Breeding too young, disease and stress are your biggest problems.....
I'd separate them if I was you....
No, if I was you, I wouldn't of co-hab'd in the first place.....
 
There are a lot of excellent reasons NOT TO cohab. These include possible cannibalism, sharing potential diseases, breeding dangerously young, and being unsure who shed or defecated to name only a few. The only reason TO cohab is human convenience.....and when you're talking about two snakes, the inconvenience factor isn't high anyway.

That "cuddling" behaviour, curling around each other, is a silent battle for dominance. Corns never live together in nature. Forcing them to do so in captivity is unkind at best, and dangerous at worst.
