Bird Nerd
After reading tyflier's thread with the parrots, I realized I had never posted pictures of my feathered kids (fids). I have four parrots: Monty a green-cheeked conure (my first), Hektor a blue-crowned conure (rescue), Toby a severe macaw (rescue), and Rainbow Peep a lovebird (rescue).

Monty is a turquoise mutation green cheek. He is 4 years old.

Hektor is 8 years old and comes from a rescue in Tennessee.

Toby is 12 years old and comes from a rescue in Kentucky. He does still pluck his legs, hopefully he will get over that.

Rainbow Peep is the baby. We got him from New Hampshire and he is only 1 year old. He has splayed legs, but you can't really tell from his picture. He has hammocks in his cage to help him out. His picture is attached to this thread.

Oh what gorgeous birds you have! I'm so jealous of your collection, but I bet they require a lot of space, time and attention. My 10-year-old budgie is enough work in the bird department already, lol.

Someday I'll own an Indian ringneck......I'm in love with those guys!

Awwww... the "such a happy bird" pic of monty is adorable. I miss getting to see that wonderful closed eyes and fluffed cheeks look.

Oh such lovely birds, I love that snuggle pic of monty! I can't let my GCC get too close to my ears cause she yanks at all my piercings

They are all so lovely. I am a big parrot fan, too.
Right now I have a Hahns Macaw and a Parrotlet. I am looking at Yellow-sided Green Cheek Conures. GCs are so cute and sweet.

does your green cheek talk at all? I have a female and she doesn't really talk, but she does make kissing noises, and *tries* to say hello...it just comes out funny. "ehhohh"

My GC is very talkative. He says "what are you doing" (thats his favorite), "Monty", "Hi Monty" "yeah" "Monty is a pretty bird" and many other little phrases. For a GC, he talks quite a lot. But, I got a GC knowing that they had very limited talking ability... so its more of a bonus :)
