I am trying to make a good entry for the other herp category....but I suck at digital manipulations. I can't just use props instead?

Nope. For the digital manipulation, the photo must be obviously altered.
For the corn snake category, feel free to use all kinds of props, though! :D
 
Ohhh any help would be so greatly appreciated! I just downloaded GIMP 2...and its so frustrating! aghhhhhh lol

I also have paint.net downloaded and somewhat know how to use that....though maybe it's not as good of a program?

Gimp is a lot better than paint.net, and there are more tutorials out there for it.

I love this site for tutorials, and they have a gimp section though it's a little on the small side.

They also have an awesome photoshop section for anyone who might be looking for some help in that area.

and if you google "free gimp tutorials" you'll get a a great list of smaller sites with tuts.

LOL And although, a pic of my "Snow Corn" in snow would be a great pic and I am sure my Red Motley Striped female would REALLY stand out with a SNOW back ground!! I don't think they would like it much!!! :devil01:HAHAHAHA!!!

Well maybe you will have a "SUMMER" contest.. By then, MAYBE it will have warmed up here! BUT GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
