You really do not have a clue on how Viruses work at all do you? This is very possible and probably did happen. You should actually read up on them and do a bit of studying before making comments like this. Educate yourself.

Its not just in Oregon, its in most states in the US. We have warnings and lots of discussions here.

As I quoted myself *unless it mutated* because there theory was based on a occurance which was proved not to be catchable by people.
Do you not remember the bird flue incident in the past?
 
Seriously, they are talking about a possible country wide pandemic!! Almost every state is making preparations regarding the possible ramifications of this. Most states have opened at least a help line in regards. There is a possibility that a town in Massachusetts, may have an infected group of people. I live in NH and this town is less then ten miles from my home.

sometimes I wish it so, I understand the "concern" don't get me wrong. But until it reaches the point of global epidemic or whatever they are steering twards, why worry? Just takes away time you could have spent not worrying.

I don't tend to take things to heart until I know for sure, that its really going to get that far. They still think they can stop it before it gets "really bad." They even said more people are recovering quickly then not.

Your more likely to get hit by a car then get the swine flue at the moment unless your in mexico. But I don't see people putting car barriers around their houses.

I think you need to do a search regarding this "swine" flu. I don't think you are understanding what exactly is going on here. Just because NO US citizen has died yet from it, doesn't diminish the seriousness of the situation. Viruses can mutate and people can die!

We got lucky during the bird flu. Hundreds of Japanese died from it. Pro activity is the only semi sure way for us to deal with it!

Because there are people out there who's job it is to worry. Am I personally going to worry? Yes...but not to the extent that it's going to interrupt my everyday life. However, if it weren't for people out there who ARE worrying about this, and who's job it is to worry about this, and who's job it is to prepare for scenarios like this...then I WOULD be extremely worried.
 
Lol, I would laugh at myself if I ended up getting swine flue after saying this stuff. But really you all shouldn't be taking my comments to heart so, I'm just creating a happy feeling in a dark hole. If it offended anyone I apologize, but I was allways taught to make the best even out of the worst.

Aw Great!. I'm very succeptible to pneumonia AND respiratory failure. If I catch that I'm dead for sure!. I may have to pull a Robert Neville pretty soon and bunker down with my dog. I promise to come back up in a few years with the vaccine for the rest of you; That is, if their will be any of you left to cure!!!

Who really knows what this virus is capable of or who is infected? I don't nor would I be willing to grab a sidelined seat, in order to find out. I have a family and don't have that luxury anymore. I don't have "ME" to look out for. If being safe, is adding another small step to my daily routine, then so be it! But, I am not going to turn a blind, uneducated eye!

*Keep cool, we are also up against other things too like west nile which should come about again as it's spring. Lyme disease and yadda.. We all must go someday anyway..
 
Wow, too many movies?. Try one movie, and apparently you've seen it too. I thought sense of humors came standard in people these days, but you must just be severely outdated!.

The main concern is Human to Human trasmission which is not usual for this flu. Also it appears to be a strain not previously seen before.

Correct. Watching the "Today Show" yesterday their resident doctor said the reason so many people in Mexico died was 2 fold. One, they waited so long to seek medical help, and 2 because this flu virus is mutated from swine, bird and human flu and the human body has absolutely NO immunity to it at all.
Yes, I'm concerned but will continue on my daily life, with hopes I don't come into contact with anyone who has it.
I have also heard conflicting info on how long the incubation period is. I've hear 24-48 hours, and also 7 - 10 days. To me that's the scary part. Not knowing how long a person can have it in their system before they show signs of it.

Yes, we definitely need to continue living our lives. I am in no way saying that we should all barricade ourselves, in our homes. I was merely saying that downplaying the potential severity of the situation, isn't a good way to deal with it. It's the whole, "It won't happen to me!" mentallity. Well, in theory, it could!

I second this!

/start rant/ I don't want to see my tax dollars go to another country when we have our own that need help. It's bad enough illegals get free health care in this country while us working stiffs get kicked in the butt when our employers pull our health insurance (happened to us in January) or up the rates so high we can't afford it and the government doesn't help. :mad: /end rant/
