Hold Me Back Please...

You are obviously a more patient individual, than I. I would have let that "mom" know, what I thought about the state of that snake. I have ZERO tolerance for ignorance. She has a duty, as a parent, to know everything she can about what her child is doing! I would have at the least, given her an ultimatum. Shape up or I will notify the proper authorities so we can ship this reptile out and into a more capable hands!

Thank you for keeping us posted on this! I do think it's great that you are helping that poor snake!

Good Luck!

PJ I agree with Fred that it was nice of you to stop and help them out. I'm hoping the mom comes to realize that her son just can't handle this kind of responsibility yet. Maybe next time she calls you can offer to take it home or buy it back?? I feel so sorry for that poor snake. I'm hoping your next update says "I took Jules home and she is in my care now." :)

Becky, I just cant take her back home. Not that I wouldnt if it came right down to it. But I do have to think of the other animals in house as well. I just do not trust the care and situations she has been in. Maybe if she was completely vet checked and doing "perfect" so to speak, than I would look to rehome her asap! I do know where you are coming from. Do you want her if she has to come home???? Only time will tell with Jules and I do hope she can totally recover from this. Believe me, this is a hard one for me to just sit on.

Do you think she would respond well to a purchase list, a care sheet, and assistance with a care schedule?
Maybe if she had it posted next to the snake with times and instructions, she would be more able to provide it with proper care?
Thank you for being spectacular PJ. I'm sure Jules appreciates it.
Gotta love having to weigh how far we should go to do it FOR them, and where the responsibility of the previous owner ends!
*hug* Keep us posted!

Thank you! She does have ALL the proper information once again! Let
hope she sticks to it. She wasnt afraid of Jules at all and was considering placing her down in her area of the house instead of upstairs in the boy's room. I am spectacular about my animals, I just have to be. I know Jules appreciated my help! That's a boa for you! I guess my responsibility will continue to a point as long as my animals still me. Wish I was a bit stronger but this is who I am.

Wayne, like I just said, thats who I am. It really isnt always in my best interest, believe me. If I have to move Jules, I know I have a few trusted boa lovers out there.

Amanda......you made me cry!! WOW, to actually read something like that about myself was very moving and powerful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and beyond.

Thank you everyone, and yes, you too Jim! My friends have been there for me and it has helped keep my chin up and keep me being the person I am with these animals.

Big Smiles

I can see how you are and trust me, that makes you the better person. I am a typical male hot head, at times. If you don't believe me, ask Christine. I feel the way you do, about the animals. My problem is that I am blunt about things. I believe that if you can't or won't do, what is needed to care for them correctly then you need to shape up or (ship out) call it quits and let someone else, who can do it, do it. I am not big on excuses!

Thank you for being that way. I am sure "Jules" appreciates it! I know I appreciate the fact that you feel that way and back it up, by actions. The world needs more like you! I support what you are doing, 100%.

Now, lets get this family smartened up, so Jules doesn't have to be tortured any more.
