Hi all, just a quick question, if i breed an Amel with a Snow, will i get Amel het Anery?

That means in simple terms that all my babies will come out amels? And they will carry a gene to produce anerys?

Thanks.

ahh, cool, so basically an amel cross snow will produce?

Sorry im new to genes and all this im trying to understand it all lol

If the Amel has no other hets, then you would get all Amels het Anery. :) A really good tool to use if you're interested in what makes what is the Corn Calculator. It really helps me out, and it's nice to have a visual of what you'd get. :)

Ah ok cool thanks, amels het anery means that they will produce anery babies?

So 2 generations down?

Thanks.

I think what everyone is trying to say is that you will get all amel het anery UNLESS your amel is ALREADY het anery.

If she is, you will get 50% amel 50% snow (amel anery)

If she is NOT het anery, you will get 100% amel het anery, and future breedings, say between 2 amel het anerys, will produce 75 percent amel, 25% snow (amel anery).

If that makes any more sense.

:)

So dumbed down, it means, if my amel and my snow breed, THEIR BABIES will produce 75% amels and 25% snow?

Then their babies could produce anerys?

bottom line, with breeding can i end up with anerys?lol

Thanks, sorry for the questions, this whole gene situation is like a puzzle to me lol.

Bottom line is, no you will not get Anerys from breeding Amel to Snow, even if your Amel is het for Anery, because both Amel and Snow have the red eyes and no melanin and you can't recover that in future breedings between the two. Hopefully that makes sense :)

You were correct here! ( and no the anery gene as a phenotype can't be recovered via an amel or snow breeding, you would need an anery to do that)

If you would to make your own anerys for fun, buy a ghost to breed to your snow. The resulting babies will all be anery het hypo and amel. :D
