Pretty Little Panamint

[Insert Witty Commentary]
Went for a half-hearted, early evening cruise to check out a "new road", and found a solitary juvenile Panamint rattlesnake. I'm betting the road will produce a fair number of snakes with time and effort...

Anyhow...I liked the habitat this guy was in...

This one was an accident. Had the camera still set to monotone after taking pictures of my kid. But I think it still came out nice, and I LOVE the way his tongue is sticking straight back over his nose...

Thanks for Looking!

The monotone one is pretty cool, don't you love how nice accidents can turn out to be. I love the shot in between the rocks and the one where the grass is almost framing it. So how many buttons where there? I can only see one but I can't really tell..

Thanks for sharing the great photo's! I've owned a couple Panamints but have never seen one in the wild.

2 buttons. And he was trying for all his might to rattle 'em. John couldn't hear it. I could just barely make it out over the deafening silence around us...

And the shot with the rocks is my favorite, as well. You can just tell he's over it. He has me pegged. I let him go after that shot...he deserved it, he was so patient with me...
