It does make them sound a little like toys doesn't it? Just like I really don't like the term hobby but for some reason I use it anyway!
 
I haven't counted my snakes in a while....but I think there are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, ......alot.

At first I hated the term too, I don't collect snakes, though I sometimes refer to it as a collection simply for the lack of a better word. I also sometimes refer to it as my zoo, jungle, etc... my mother calls it a menagerie of reptiles. Collection does seem as though they're just there and not interacted with, but I just interpret it differently now seeing I know people consider them beloved pets.

My corns are my babies. My children. I prefer no attempts to convince me otherwise.
And there is no way in the world that you could convince Brutus that he is not my own spoiled son. :laugh:

"Collection" does kind of sound like sea shells, or mummies in a museum. :roflmao:

OFF TOPIC : And Mindy, I have read the entire series of Colleen McCullough's Caesar series. She had been famous for The Thornbirds....but she outdid herself on these. Excellent research (she herself is an interesting person). I, too, am a history nut.

That's an excellent five snakes though, great taste! Also, a hedgehog? That must be an awesome pet. Do they eat bugs and produce, or is there pet store diets for them?

My non reptile pets consist of..

my beautiful German Shepherd "Ciana"
and my brothers amazingly awesome Dachshund mix "Rajon"

Plus my mothers German Shepherd "Nikita", Maltese "Quincy", and three cats "Zoey", "Willow", and "Luna", who I frequently see.

I give her a good quality cat food, and treats of mealworms or crickets, and the occassional fruit or veggie.

Most of the hedgehog foods you find in petstores are inadequate, Vitakraft probably being one of the worst.
