What is your collection?

Miami or plain or ????? Corn (keep getting different answers from local reptile shops in my area)
and new to the group this past weekend a LARGE Crimson corn (at least that is what the seller told me he is)

Post pics, maybe others on here can help. I always like to see crimson and miami pics. :)

Thanks for the Idea ( o:

Thanks for the idea here are some pics with Oggie, the more I research on the forum I am assuming she is a "Normal" I have just heard that the Miami and Crimson's sre considered Normals as well and it would be nice to know what specific "Normal" she is. So if anyone can help THANKS!!!!!!!

I would say just a regular normal.

Then I would also say those 3 need to be separated as soon as possible. Do a search for cohabbing or cohabitation on here and you'll see why.

Good luck!

I would agree with Robbie. I used to cohab until I realized I had a pair and if the female got gravid then she would become egg bound because she is so small. Sterilite tubs work great for big collection. I have 16 animals and I tub them and it is great

That's one reason, but it also looks like you (not you snakemaster, the person who posted) feed them in the cage, that can be dangerous as well if they ingest the bedding, as well as possibly cause cannibalism if you're not careful. I would imagine the smell of mice, as well as the heat of the hunt, might cause some real confusion, I'd keep that in mind. The mouse also looks like it may be live too, and that is also dangerous once the mice get big enough to bite.

If you look the bedding in the tanks are different, and the tank with the wood chips had been used for feeding only once before I found out about the issues it could cause and corrected that immediately. The snakes have never been fed in their home enviroments or together. They each have their very own individual feeding container that we use every single time we feed. I learned about everyone's co-habbing opinions when I posted a question about a surprise clutch one morning. I only posted the pics at the suggestion of another user to receive opinions on Oggie's type, believe me I know how ya'll feel about co-habbing....lol
These are some older pics that I already had uploaded on photobucket and they are from about a year ago.
And yes the mouse is alive I feed all my snakes live mice & rat pups. (hopefully my choice in that isn't as big of a "Hot issue" as the co-habbing was....lol)
Thanks everyone, I hope ya'll are having a great weekend!!!!!

Hope your having a good weekend too, I didn't mean to sound like I was harping on your snake care, sorry if it sounded like that. It sounds like you have it figured out, I just thought the advice might help.
Your snakes look very healthy, and have great colors, patterns, etc.. I would steer away from live mice though, not to sound too preachy, but it really is best to feed frozen thawed. Live mice can injure, even kill a snake, and the sooner you get them eating frozen the better.

Not harpy at all I just wanted to make sure I cleared up any issues on the little bit that I know how to do right so far....lol. I appreciate any and all advice And certainly WELCOME it. I usually look at it all and sort through all the different pieces and put together what works best for us. I openly admit I am no where even close to being an expert and greatly enjoy learning something new everyday...lol
So by all means let the advice keep pouring in. I know there is still much for me to learn:idea:

I have reduced the number of snakes and spidies over the last year so I have ended up with my absolutly ideal bunch of beloved pets. There are only a few more I would consider buying, but thats not in the near future.

2.1 corn snakes (Normal Alabama locality, Hypo, Ghost)
4.2 dogs (3 Mastiffs, 2 Dachshunds, 1 Beagle)
2.1 horses (2 Paints, 1 Quarter/Walker cross...we suspect. Was sold as a Walker, but doesn't gait)
2.1 birds (One small, green parrot and two finches)

And a ton of chickens. A lot more girls than guys, probably 40+ at the moment. I couldn't tell you all the kinds we have. Oh, and the other house across the street has another 5.1 dogs and 1.0 birds, and then there's the 1x.3x cats....x because the number varies depending on how many are at the barn at any given day.

Yes, we have a freaking menagerie....and I love every minute of it. Our farm is a family effort. The only sad part is, I'm the only one who loves the snakes. Everyone else would just as soon shoot them.
