These are some terrible shots taken from my phone. He's 2 1/2 years old now, but his gray muzzle makes him look 15. He hates having his pic taken, and it shows. He's a happy guy, but he looks miserable in all pics. I've heard people claim that chihuahuas aren't "real" dogs, but believe me, they're real in every way. I've had big dogs before, and just because he can't steal **** from a table-top doesn't mean he ain't real...

My niece is in one of the pics.

Vader reminds me of our Chi mix, Winslowe. I've always been a "big dog" fan, nothing smaller than a lab. Now that we have a Chi mix and a doxie mix, I'm finding myself hooked on small breeds. They are big dogs in a compact form.

Black dogs sometimes go grey at an early age. Tiv did that, too.

Yeah, if you're a lazy trainer-type (like me), a small dog's the way to go. I don't necessarily get OFFENDED by the anti-small-dog b.s., but I always wonder if those folks have ever dealt with one. I hadn't, and I'll tell you that they are no worse or better than a larger dog. They're pretty much the same thing. Of course, a big lab will put their paws on a visitor's shoulders. Vader can only reach mid-calf. Call that a drawback if you want, but it takes some real pressure off of me. :)

So very kewl! He's a great looking dog, Dean.

My grandfather used to have a dog just like him. We used to tease her (I was a monster to her when I was under 10 years old) all the time and she would terrorize us back. Then she got old and we would snuggle with her and hold her close.

Ahhh, seeing him makes me go WAAYYY back. Thanks for sharing.

The photos of Vader would be sooo much cuter without that annoying bunny in the same sight range. Just sayin.... :sidestep:

Ahhhh a true daddy you are... 4 point five pounds.
Did you use you snake scale on him..???
sorry Roy...

He can still fit on my snake scale, but he's reluctant to stand still in a Sterilite! He may weigh almost 5 pounds now, but I doubt if he exceeds that... Doesn't matter much...
