AAAA! My eyes burn.

Ugh, I wouldn't want to randomly come across that either. Even if it was "mostly" covered up. I won't argue that breastfeeding is natural, but I will never understand the need to put pictures of it online and post it for acquaintances to see.

Intercourse is natural too, but nobody here is posting pictures of it for other forum members.

But people do...all the time, all over the place, and in ways you and I can't even imagine.

My question...to the OP of this thread, you said you were halfway through the topic when the pictures loaded. Did you not read the thread? Was there no mention of a baby or pregnancy before the pictures showed up?

Honestly, if you opened the topic and were immediately bomblasted by blatant nudity...I agree that a warning was needed.

But if you opened the thread, flipped through a few posts, got to the 2nd or third page, and saw breastfeeding...you've nothing to complain about. Should have read the topic ebfore cruising through. It happens to all of us where we open a thread expecting one thing, and find something different. Most of the time, if you actually read the thread from point A to point Z, there is plenty of legitimate warnings of what you're about to see.

But the reality is...it's 2009. If you are still offended at the site of a woman breastfeeding a baby either in digital, print, or out in public...you really need to get out of the house more. Demi Moore, comlpetely nude, 8 months pregnant...cover of a fashion magazine. Janet Jackson, definitely NOT pregnant, shirtless with an invisible man's hands covering her breasts, cover of Rolling Stone. Britney Spears in a teddy/nightie making out with Madonna(also in a nightie) during the MTV Video Music Awards. Nipple slips at red carpet events, Super Bowl performances, and news broadcasts, almost every week.

But a woman breastfeeding is somehow obscene, offensive, and deserving of "AHHHH!! My eyes!!"?? Nah...I just don't see it...:poke:

The thread is simply titles "OMG" and then there are a gob of "you wont' guess what happened!" and then people replying with "what what what?" so I skipped ahead a few pages to see what the surprise was...people do this ALL the time on this forum and the surprise is usually a new puppy.

There was ZERO mention of baby, birth (there were childbirth pics as well) and hey my daughter is naked...she simple posted her "surprise" in photos. There were zero hints as to what on earth the surprise was.

All the things you mentioned are not cleverly disguised to jump out at you...if I go out and buy a maxim or a mommy mag I expect to see boobs and babies...not in a thread titled "OMG" and the the description being "I have a surprise, I'll tell you later"

Last two cents here. Criosphynx was clearly posting a personal feeling, and kept the said topic/forum anonymous. People have every right to bring that up, and to find it in poor taste, offensive, etc... If a forum presents itself as a family site, then it should provide the security of people viewing to not have to be bombarded with obscene material (whatever someones definition is, within reason).
I am very caught off guard by the blasting that certain members have been doing, and I think it's fairly adolescent, but it is what it is. I would most likely feel the same way regarding the described scenario, and at least respect Criosphynx's right to express that.
This was, at times, a humorous thread, and a simple explanation of a situation. Why some chose to take it the other way, no clue. Why people criticize someones interpretation of obscenity, no clue, especially seeing it was reasonable in my opinion. I get out of the house plenty, and certainly don't see pregnant women breast feeding in their birthday suits... except for a cloth???

You forget that celebrities are generally reasonably pleasant to look at. This girl is no model. Hence my eye burning comment...which was meant to be funny...:crazy01:

aparently my lack of touting how gorgeous she is makes my heartless...lmao

what would offend you in a thread? Religion? Tortured animals? Seriously...forget its mommy and cute baby for a second and sustitute it with som'thing you don't want to see. I personally don't want to see som' strangers veiny boobs and stretch marks...or a baby covered in birthing fluid....especially at work, where a person can get in trouble for viewing a chick wearing a washcloth.

I breastfed my 3 boys when they were babies, my sisters breastfed my nephews and nieces, but I'd have been ticked off by a nursing picture if I was expecting to see a cute new puppy too!

I've seen "puppies" used as a term describing... well, you know. ;)

I'm very mildly surprised that this thread took such a serious turn. I didn't necessarily agree with the op's reaction, but I thought the post itself was entertaining and inoffensive. The line between modesty and exhibitionism is super-subjective, especially in this One Nation Under God.

Bold face is from me...

You didn't know, because you skipped ahead. Getting mad about it not being there, if you go back later and don't find it, is really being picky because...you skipped ahead. I didn't see the thread, don't even know the forum. But if you skipped ahead to get to the pictures...it's your own fault for not reading to find out what it was. It happens to people all the time. A warning of "NSFW" on pictures of a mother breastfeeding a child is not necessary, because frankly, I have never seen one taken tastefully that would be anything but a beautiful moment captured on camera. Regardless of whether or not the mother is "hot", photos of a mother breastfeeding a baby is FAR from obscene or offensive. At least it SHOULD be FAR from obscene...

Really...you're acting like it was a full-on Hustler shoot with a pregnant woman. Now...if it was a picture of a pregnant woman breastfeeding her husband...I would understand your anger. Otherwise...you're over-reacting. It's really that simple.

I'm not saying that you aren't welcome to your opinion on whether photos like that should be allowed or not. You can have any opinion you'd like on the subject.

But the first thing I keep reading from you is how this mother wasn't attractive. So what? If she was hot it would be OK?

I'm sorry, but frankly, personal taste in attractiveness plays no role in deciding if something is obscene or not. She has a baby. It's fairly evident that at least one person finds her attractive.

THIS is my main problem with the reaction you're having. Sure...your original post was intended in good fun, but really...even there, you focused on her being unattractive, and you exaggerated the content of the photos. You also insist there was no warning, yet admit you never checked for one.

Yea, you're welcome to your opinion, and other people are welcome to disagree. I don't think breastfeeding pictures are offensive or obscene. I don't go looking for them, but if a female friend of mine showed me pictures of herself breastfeeding, I wouldn't be looking for nipple, I'd be looking at the beauty of mother and child.

If I opened a thread, skipped over 3 pages of text to hurry and get to some pictures, I certainly wouldn't complain and gripe if the pictures were not what I expected from the title of a forum thread. But then again, I've opened enough threads in General/Off-Topic forums to know that they are very rarely what you would expect...especially if there is a photo involved...

So I firmly support your entitlement to your opinion. I just respectfully interject that I believe you are over-reacting.

This has got to be the most pointless argument or if you want to call it "debate" I've ever seen.

People are just getting involved with the fight just to make this so much more dramatic than it is. Really? Are you gonna argue how attractive this lady is? Come on. What is boils down to is that a woman breast feeding doesn't really belong on a dog forum, I am just sorry. lol. And the issue isn't if it makes everyone uncomfortable. If it has NOTHING to do with the forum topic and could be considered inappropriate to anyone it really shouldn't be posted. Honestly, nudity really doesn't belong on a dog forum, innocent as her intentions may have been.

Come on people! This thread has gotten a little out of hand. Truely.

I think people are simply picking fights here at this point.
I think everyone should settle down, and let this go. JMHO.
It was a funny thread everyone was enjoying until someone threw a grenade into it lol.

Basically, better yet, exactly! Good post :)!,

Thank you.

I did go back to the thread and look for a warning after Som'one suggested that the photos were not as I describe them (they are) I figured it must have been edited....the photos are still there (BTW no issues with them now that i'm not AT WORK and I know they are coming) there is no warning...they are just BOOM there, so i don't get this "you deserved it because you didn't check" because there was no warning TO check. Which is my issue with the whole thing

I just thought this would be funny. I still think it is actually...lol

And yes I do feel attractiveness has alot to do with how offensive som'thing is....if som' one who is 400lbs goes outside wearing a tank top and shorts, it would certainly offend more people than if a 120lb girl did. Just sayin.

This has got to be the most pointless argument or if you want to call it "debate" I've ever seen.

Really. THE most pointless you've EVER seen?
I don't have to travel far to see tons of pointless arguments. Ever been on a dog forum when they start discussing dog food brands? Or culling? Folks who don't even OWN dogs will travel MILES to post in those kinds of threads.
Those subjects are importand no doubt, what makes them pointless is that everyone gets their panties in a bunch and no one is persuaded to do anything different, and the thread just gets locked down until the next time one of these subjects come up, and then the same players post the same stuff.

Perhaps, to get a REAL feeling of what went on here on THIS site, we need a reenactment like they do in courtroom trials. We can't really link the original so we could have a forum reenactment and then get a better feel for our feelings.:p

All right:

Who wants to be the nurser, and who wants to be the nursee ? :nyah:

Lmao...well put...

I agree its a bit of a he said/she said. But mostly I find this offensive/ I don't find this offensive.

Iam sure lots of boys will volunteer to be a nursee...l
