Why won't my snake attack it's food?

I feed her FT fuzzies and I wiggle em around but all she'll do is just grab onto it she won't try and constrict it or anything. It looks like she MIGHT be trying to do something but maybe can't? maybe it has something to do with the fact that I feed her in a cardboard box perhaps? I just thought it'd be cool to be able to watch her constrict but she won't do it.

She can probably tell it's not necessary and isn't willing to expend any extra energy if she doesn't have to. Even with a live fuzzy some will not constrict, a fuzzy is really not able to hurt the snake so it doesn't need to be subdued first.

She may just be too young. My Abbott's Okeetee, Flash, didn't start attacking his mice until he was probably a year to a year and a half old.

do you keep wiggling the prey when its bitten? mine will gladly just take it and eat it like a lame monster. but i keep a hold of it and make sure they constrict. keep it acting like its fighting. not too hard though, this isnt tug of war. its just a small lil mouse wigglin around.

I have two one year old snakes that I hatched out. Not only don't they grab and constrict, they've NEVER let me see them eat. Then I've got one that constricts my hand, no matter how clean and tries to eat my fingers. They've all got their own personality.

i REALLY enjoyed that description...LOL...my boyfriends grandmother calles Yoshi a monster all the time, and when i watch him just slide up and swallow i always think he's not even scarey to mice...lol
Now i know he's just a 'lame monster'.
