Rosie is growing!

Aww, that's a cute pic with your son on the sofa!

It's definitely turned colder over the last couple of weeks and the second field pic looks a little frosty??? I hope you wrapped up warm! ;)

Thanks, Rosie would kiss the face off of anyone who wanted! I'm lucky to have safe, open ground to exercise her on so near. The 'Great Lines' is part of a heritage park, so it'll never be developed. The use has changed, my mum remembers cattle grazed there, and I learnt to ride on the mad little ponies that were kept there when I was growing up, now it's a site of nature conservation interest for the chalk downland plants that grow there..
And yes Sue, that was Rosie's first frosty day, she kept sniffing the grass and getting all silly!

She's very cute and scrufffly, but I like seeing her RUN!
Running is what Rosies do best! My friend is going in for the next part of her dog therapy/massage course and wants sequential photos of my girlie running to illustrate her movement for class. Even with the camera on 'sport' setting and multi-shot I'm lucky to get more than a blur when Rosie really opens up.

She's adorable. Love the pic of her with your son. Love the paw print blankie....lol\
The pics of her running are great, I'm sure that is the best time of day for her and you. Keep giving us updates. We all love Rosie!...lol

Thankyou! It's nice to know people like sharing Rosie's progress. It's her first birthday on the 21st so I've ordered her a posh whippet collar in tooled leather. The graze on her head from the dogs that attacked her has opened up, like she's scratched at it, so we'll have to visit the vet in the morning.

I must have missed that bit. She got into a confrontation with some other dogs? I'm so happy to hear she's healing and there are no ill affects.

Oh, my poor girl got attacked by 4 staffordshire bull terriers, but luckily they didn't manage to get a grip on her. She got a bite to her muzzle and the scrape on her head. The vets wasn't open today so we'll go in the week if she's not better. She's actually approaching staffies with a little bit more caution now.
Today we went for a lovely walk to the estuary and met up with my sister and her dogs. Rosie had already met Henry the pug when he visited us, but this was her first meeting with Phoebe and Porridge. We had a great time, the dogs charged about through the mud, undergrowth and water and chased rabbits. We saw brent geese, a little egret and some great crested grebes.

As I'd deserted Rosie Saturday night, she's had a couple of days of lead walks with the boys. Today I took the opportunity to get her out to let off steam with a good run.

She is lucky she is so fast that she could get away from 4 very powerful dogs! I am so glad she is ok!

It is the scariest thing to watch your dog get attacked by other dogs especially if it isn't your dogs falt! That has happened several time to my poor Australian cattle dog.

The worst thing is knowing that this isn't the first time those particular dogs have attacked another! The black lab, Nabu, that Rosie was playing with today was attacked by them last year and his owner was told it's because Nabu was 'too submissive'! I know the community police officer and dog warden have issued another warning to the owner of the staffies and I haven't seen him since, but I'm still worried Rosie would just run up to them if we do meet.

That is bad. If you can't control your dogs do not take them out into public areas, but it sounds like this person is in denial about his dogs sounds like my Dad. Poor Scooby was a little submissive so he did have a big target on him so I was really careful where I took him because of it. I lost one of my dogs in March & since then he is a lot more confident and the target seems to be gone thank goodness! I am still careful when I take him out.

Today there was a heavy frost, the air was crisp and clear and Rosie was supercharged! She really opened up, doing laps around the field at top speed. I can't wait to see what she thinks of snow!

I had a feeling my crazy girl would love the snow. She's wearing her posh new collar, I got her a hand-tooled leather collar with roses in the pattern for her first birthday

Wow! She's crazy for it! (or just crazy, like you said) She looks so cool in the stretched-out running pics. I think I'll throw my little ones out there and see what happens. They've been in it a little but then it was light and fluffy and over their heads, they didn't go far.

I think just crazy in general sums up Rosie! She was definately made for running. My friend Cathy is starting the second part of her dog-bothering course (it's therapeutic massage) so requested action pictures and I've got quite a few now. The technical term for how a sighthound runs is a double suspension rotary gallop, apparently, due to her 's' shaped spine's flexibility and explains why Rosie has all 4 feet off the floor at full speed, once when she's extended and again when fully contracted.
I've had to wash her feet when we've got in because the rock salt used to grit the pavements (sidewalks) has made her pads a bit sore. Her claws are due a trim but I've left them for now so she's got extra traction with her running spikes.
