Rosie is growing!

It looks like she had a wonderful time zooming around in the snow. I've always said the colder the air, The wilder my dogs got...lol
All my dogs loved the snow.. I think we were the only ones who tried to use standard poodles as sled dogs. We'd hook their leashes to our sleds and let them pull us up and down our driveway(we had a long drive). The dogs seemed to love it though and wiggled in anticipation whenever they saw the sleds come out...lol

That sounds like great fun!

Rosie is rubbish at wearing jingly antlers!

More snow pics. I really loved the big bull mastiff, Rosie was a bit overawed at first meeting, but he played really gently with her.

All the snow is gone, so walking means MUD now! It doesn't slow Rosie down, she really had the zoomies today, mainly trying to chase rooks.
She had a lucky escape, the dogs that attacked her before were all out, off-lead today. I spotted them before Rosie did and got her on her lead. She's so dim and friendly she'd have ran off to see them if I hadn't got her atention with a doggy treat first. I've reported the incident to the dog warden, as the owner is under an order to keep his dogs under control at all times.
After our walk we paid a visit to the petshop to buy some more treats. Rosie was really good 'sitting' for treats from the peshop owner, I'm trying to get her out of the habit of jumping up.

Rosie does exactly the same thing as Charlie! He chases rooks in flight round and round and round in circles. He loves chasing birds. And his wee short stumpy legs don't stop him from almost catching them!

Oh you have to get photos! (I like wee Charlie a lot!)

I took Rosie for a long walk yesterday, down to the couhtry park to meet my sister and Prudence, one of her jack russells. The girls had a blast. Started off really cloudy, with a few sleet showers.

We met one of Rosie's friends, a lovely chocolate lab callled Bedicks, so Rosie had to have a swim with him. Prudence did not approve

I love seeing pics of Rosie running!
Thank you for the pictures of the water around your area, Janine. :)

Hey Alan! I love visiting the estuary, always have done. The actual open areas, woodlands, orchards and farms around where I live have been chipped away at with developments, so it makes the open space I do still have all the more precious.
No rareties spotted this visit, lots of Brent geese, shelduck, teal and widgeon out on the water.

Thank goodness Rosie's season is finished, and we had a gorgeous morning for a long walk to celebrate. I think these pictures show how happy she was to be off-lead again!

Some fairly nice scenic shots I'm pleased with.
And the tail end of a huge dog walking group we totally disrupted. There were @ 50-60 dogs being walked very nicely, the group is to do with greyhound and lurcher rescue, so there were retired greyhounds, rescued and pet lurchers, salukis, whippets and other running dogs. Rosie though it was wonderful and bounced around trying to get them to play with her. I was totally embarrassed at first, but somehow Rosie worked her charms and we've been asked to join! I'm not sure Rosie would make a good ambassador for the running breeds with her madcap ways, but she was an instant hit. Of course she responded to all the fuss by loving everyone in sight. I couldn't get pictures at the time because I was stopping Rosie from bouncing on the retired dogs too much.

More great pics!
I like pics of Rosie running, but the "dragging a stick" pic is funny. It reminded me of a dog I knew who would try to bring back anything you would throw.
Does that dog-walking group let their dogs run together? That would be fun to see them tearing up the grass together, I bet Rosie would like it.

A lot of the dogs are ex-racers or rescues with issues, so I think they lead-walk them most of the time and a lot of them were muzzled, probably because their chase instinct would take over. There are a lot of rabbits around in the park, and running dogs generally aren't known for having good recall! They meet the first Sunday of each month, so hopefully my shifts will allow us to meet them next month, but I shall certainly try to plan further shift requests around the group, because the people were so nice.

As you can see, the tide was out, so no swimming for Rosie. I did see lots of wildfowl and waders, including a pair of Pintail ducks and a Little Ringed Plover
