  • Hi 360EvoChris
I have found this site very innactive for UK members so this promted me to build my own website in order for us all to learn from and help each other. I was wondering if you would be interested in signing up as a member to the site where I have at least 2 specialist herpetologists as members even though numbers are a bit thin at the moment due to the sites brand new appearance on the web. I've listed the link below for your convenience. Please be sure to bookmark the site as we won't be showing in a Google search for a couple of weeks yet. I look forward to hearing from you soon hopefully as a member. Many thanks.

Just to let you know, if you arn't aware already..I know you probably don't remember me but last summer in August 2009 one of my corn snakes had escaped it's enclosure and well, this year in March 2010 neighbor guy was underneath our trailer and found her in a pvc pipe- cold and scared and a little underweight but still a live and breathing. She's doing really good now. Just wanted to update you on that.
ahhhh ok lol i stopped my snake escaping though he was escaping from the lid on top he must have pushed REALY hard to open it though as it has clips on the top so i jsut put an extra bit of weight on top
It sounds like you need a new tank! Go to WalMart and pick up a sterilite storage tub and some binder clips. When you find him again, use the tub as his tank, and clamp the binder clips around the lid to make sure he can't push it up.
I have a bedroom just for the snakes. I mostly use sterilite tubs with a few tanks, especially for the bigger snakes. I also have several racks to help organize everything.
I always feed in the tank, but then again, I have over 40 snakes, and some of them are big boas that would be a pain to take out of their tanks for feeding. LOL
After you feed him, leave him completely alone (no water changes or anything like that that could disturb him) for at least 48 hours so he can digest with no issues.
You're gonna want to leave him alone for about a week to get settled in. I know it's going to be tempting to hold him, but if you hold him too much, he might not want to eat.
Sounds like you need to get some lid clamps. You can pick some of those up at the pet store. And if you can't find those, you can always some heavy books or something to put on the lid to keep him from getting out.
Sorry it took me so long to reply! If you look at my thread reply earlier, remember, s/he might feel cold to you, but that's because your body temperature is over 18 degrees more than his/her optimal temperature.
