Feldspar - Shatter

hypnoctopus

Olivia Barron
I have wanted this morph since I very first started learning about corn snake genetics. I don't know why they're so uncommon, but I just love the pattern and color (or lack thereof). I picked up this tiny guy from Travis Whistler today. I would like to find a female to go with him at some point, maybe a lava cinder (another dream morph).

Anyway, here are a couple of not so great cell phone photos of Feldspar the sunkissed cinder. I'll be taking better photos once he's settled in.

My husband made me a little light box, something I've been wanting for a while. I tested it out today with Feldspar. I think I still need to figure out some camera settings and/or my lighting, but I did get a couple of nice shots of him.

And here he is trying to escape the light box!

Feldspar took his first fuzzie today. He had a little trouble getting over the arm, but otherwise did great. I'm always happy to get them off pinkies.

He's a really sweet little guy too. He's been calm and handleable since day 1.

Feldspar is getting quite pink. I like the pink on other cinder morphs like hypo cinder and lava cinder, but I really prefer my shatters to be only shades of gray. Oh well. Anyway, he's a really sweet snake and has a great feeding response!

Time for proper photos of Feldspar! What a cute little guy - I loved how he had his head poking up in some of the photos.

Feldspar did NOT like the light box today! He just wouldn't sit still, so he only ended up with two photos in focus.

Taken any Feldspar pics lately? I'm interested to see how his colors are being modified as he grows.

I haven't lately, but I definitely should! His colors still look pretty much the same, maybe slightly lighter. I'll put him next on my roster for snake photos. :)

This guy grew up before my very eyes! He has a wonderful personality and I love how he matured. He will hopefully be breeding for me this year.
