Striped Butter 2nd clutch

zorro

Old Guy
I was sad cause my Striped Butter laid slugs on her first clutch bred to my striped goldust. My striped goldust is on loan to Becky so when she did her post lay shed ( she still had a lot of weight) I bred her to my striped sunglow male and low and behold got a good second clutch.

Congratulations, John.

As a novice, I am just asking....so....do you know 100% which male's sperm fertilized these eggs....???

That's what I love about this type of double breeding, is that since the males are so different, (there is that stripe that is common to them both) when hatched we will know for sure. There is a chance it could be both but I will be able to tell without a doubt.
Thanks
John

Congratulations! IMHO there are two sensible ways to breed a female for a second time in a season. Either breed her back to the same male or breed her to something completely different, as you did. I want to know the parentage of my babies.

Best of luck with these. I'll look forward to pippies!
