New Addition! A Reptilian Critter w/Legs

K. Rene

Cozmic Cornz
Went to the PDX Retile Expo today in Willsonville, OR. Had a blast at the cs.com member breakfast (jessicat) got some pics of us mostly women lol My BF told me before the show we weren't getting anymore 'snakes', but what I was wanting wasn't a 'snake' ;)

After circling the whole place we ended up picking out this lovely lady, (correct me if I'm wrong) an albino ruby eyed Leopard gecko. She was hands down the prettiest one there (I could be biased lol) I just loved her color and discreet pattern She was born this summer, haven't got a weight on her yet. She is the first legged critter in our group.

Also not sure what to name her. The BF thinks it should be Gemma (like a ruby is a gem-stone) I thought Geisha would be cute, but I get how Gemma makes sense. Here are a few pics, didn't want to pester her too much.

She's gorgeous!

I would let Bf name her Gemma. I have found that if I let a family member do something trivial like name my snakes, they will have a much greater fondness for it! :)

Thanks everyone :D

So what did you guys finally name her?

I don't EVEN wanna know what "the funky tail dance" is all about. It looks rather obscene.... LOL!

Gemma is such a pretty little lizard. I LOVE her colors :).

I know with some gecks they do that when they feel threatned or before dropping their tail. Not sure about leos

Funky tail dance? I think I did that at a Parliament show in '78! Chemicals were involved...don't ask...lol!

Beautiful little critter! Congrats!

Yeah, I think she might do it just to stretch, the times I have seen her do it we weren't feeding her or trying to handle her. She's silly. The other day she was laying in the corner of her tank with her head pointing up and her throat? on the glass so that her head was at a 90 degree angle with her body, my BF was like "that can't be comfortable" I'm like obviously it is or she wouldn't be doing it! LOL
