A word about the moderators on the personal forums

The way I keep track of which forum paid subscriptions have expired is by the display of the moderator in the right hand column. This keeps things simply in that anyone who has had their forum subscription expire, will be displayed in the reglar black text font instead of the reddish bolded font used for this purpose (and Contributor memberships).

As such, from here on out, anyone who does not have their registered member name highlighted will simply be assumed to have had their subscription expire and will be treated as such.

This will take effect sometime on Monday, 11/20/06.

Do we have control over whether or name is highlighted or not? I know I am a bit confused about this.

The last time my contributorship expired (for one day), I automatically lost the red bold lettering and my medallion even though my forum had not expired. I paid another year's contributorship to get them back, then I read a post where you said contributorship is included in the forum membership. So why was I booted as a contributor if my forum was still current? If contributorship was included, shouldn't it have been in good standing as long as my forum was?

I ask because if it goes down like last year, on 02-09-2007 my contributor status will expire and I will loose this red lettering that you now require, but my forum does not expire until 03-15-2007. If contributorship was included in the forum subscription, how do I keep from loosing that red lettering for one month without paying for two contributorships? I intend to renew my forum, but don't want to pay an extra year's contributorship to be in good standing for a month that should have been covered by my previous forum subscription anyway.

I believe the problem was brought to your attention in August, and I followed the thread hoping you would tell us how to work around this but I'm still unclear how you want us to navigate it.

So if you keep track of when forums expire by the red lettering, perhaps there should be programming in place to keep the red lettering until the forum actually does expire. :shrugs:

I want to comply, but I honestly have no idea how I would control my name being displayed in black when my forum membership is still in good standing. Do we just request via email for you to do it manually when the time comes? Help?

It appears the software is taking away the bold lettering before it should, so why punish members for something beyond our control? Why would a glitch in the software make you take the actions below?

I'll be facing the same problem as my contributorship expires in Feb but my personal forum expires at the end of August. That's a 6 month difference!

Quite honestly you will see the problem before I do, so all you need to do is to contact me about it. And even if I were to see it first, I would check to make sure that this overlap problem was not the cause of the situation.

The real problem is that I am using the paid membership code in a manner for which it was not designed. So I have to make manual allowances for it.

Sorry about the confusion as to my INTENT of this thread.
