Intro, New Snake Owner!

Pet Corn Snake

New member
Well, I have had my snake for a few weeks now, hes settled in fine, been really good for me and seems very healthy, just thought i would say a big hello to everyone, : )

Thank you for taking time to read my little bit : )

EDITED BECAUE I THOUGHT IT WASN'T NEEDED TO KNOW WHO IT WAS.., about 4 people know this is me, including the admin, i said i would re-creat a new account to show that my post count doesent really matter to me and when i really think i'am mature, that thread i just wrighten congrats in i did not realize there loss, i have posted another reply and i feel really bad, i'am sorry if i affended you but i was really excieted to gratz him that i never read the whole thread witch i'am sure alot of people do also, now please keep this between us, the limited amount of people that know its me the better, my plan is to show i can be mature then when they find out its been me all along they will acsept me... so yea..

Lets just say to try to pawn yourself off as a new member to start all over and get attention, doesn't sit with most on here, I myself am NOT a veteren to this sight but I try to post things that are either relevent or questions I researched and couldn't find an answer that satisfied me... go away for awhile then when you feel you can be of substance to this forum, come back under your own name and add to any thread you feel your able to adequetly fulfill

Ummmmm, Well, i was only trying to show my post count does not really matter to me, and i was gona be mature and then when people found out it was me they would know i'am mature when i really try to be, i was not lieing 4-5 people did know it was me and they said it was a good idea and that they will keep it a secret for now, but yea, what can i say, this is how much i care about my post count, this is the mature me, thank you for trying to turn the forum against me, if it works it works if it doesent then i want everyone to know the above, i also did ask the admin to deleate my old account and remove all its posts for the good of the forum, so yea.. i'am not all bad!

thank you for trying to turn the forum against me,

No one was trying to turn the forum against you except yourself. Just do what the ppl said, take a break. Thats all.

Personally i dont think i need a break, i think i need a fresh start, and this is my fresh start, and by snakemom posting a "private message" between me and herself she is the one trying to stur things, mabie she mis-understood what i was saying to her, but looking back and back at the pm i dont see anything in there worth posting about..

Comeon, guys. Give the kid a chance. He knows what happened wasn't right, and he wants to try and start over. Hasn't anyone else ever wished they could have a "second chance at a first impression"? I think it shows the kind of initiative that deserves the benefit if the doubt.

And for the record, I am one of the few that knew who he was before he made his first post, and I thought it was a good idea. I think anyone who is willing to so completely start over, deserves a second chance.

I honestly believe that he has the potential to be a good, upstanding, respectable, and beneficial member of this community.

I haven't been here for very long, but I know how this forum works. I think that he may have had a bad start, regrets the start that he made for himself, and wants to do everything he can to "make it up" to the forum as a community. Let's give him a chance to be a viable member of the community before we chastise him for mistakes made. I think he's learned his lesson, and I think that is all that anyone really wanted in the first place...

Well I do like Donald Trump so I guess I have to believe in second chances too. :)

Sorry If I have seemed mean.

That may be, but I don't feel he should have PM'd ppl to tell who he was and try to get them on his side. He should have kept quiet and just lurked and commented now and then like most new members do. Ask a question now and then. But no, he chose to show hisself in open with his first few comments to threads and start this so called "new member" thread. I have 2, 16 yr old daughers so i know what the teen years are like....TRUST ME I KNOW!....LOL......and i know one is a Drama queen , but that doesn't excuse her for attention getting like this boy has done..We'll see if he in fact composes hisself over the next few weeks or not.......JMO

Thanks guys,

all I'm after is a second chance there was rumours going around that i only cared about my post count, well its not true look at my posts now, and i asked for my old account to be deleted with all the old posts for the good of the forum, also its not attention I'm after, i already get attention just walking down town the way i dress.

thanks for all you who do believe in second chances.

I agree- let him have a fresh start. He stopped using the chat speak, didn't he? He's making a concentrated effort to correct his spelling. Man, you can't fault his enthusiasm and love of his new snake- he just wants to share that with the world, who can blame him? Let's just gently guide him to proper forum behaviour- I think anyone who is so excited by snake ownership is of value to the hobby in general. He actually follows the advice he is given- immediately! He doesn't pretend to "know better" than the veterans. The long-timers he managed to offend have all been apologized to, sincerely, I believe. Give him a break. Geez, go look at his blog, go look at his snake that he is overflowing with pride in- you will see a genuine snake lover- maybe a _tad_ enthusiastic- but is that really wrong? Have some patience!

snakemom-

I understand fully where you are coming from. It is definately going to take some time for him to get things right, and he will certainly need to "prove himself" with his new "persona". But in order to prove himself, I think it was appropriate to do so with a new user profile, in order to shed the stigmata that the old profile had attached to it. The jdizzy profile certainly had a bad reputation, and I don't think alot of members would have given him the chance to re-prove himself as a viable member using that profile. Too many people would have judged on past performance instead of current. Just like you, too many people would have been skeptical, and not given him a second chance. It is really difficult to get your act together when people are assuming and judging based on a storied past, rather than taking you at face value. Trust me on this one. I went through a period of "maturing" of this nature in real-life, where it isn't so easy to just change a profile and get a fresh start. It is extremely difficult to make personal changes when people will simply not let go of your past.

So...he tried to MAKE people let go of his past by dropping the jdizzy persona all together. Not an entirely bad thing, IMO. It gives him a fresh start where people wouldn't have need to doubt every word he typed because of his name. Unfotunately, it will no longer work that way, but at least he made that effort. And i think that effort needs to be respected, at the very least.

We will see how he does. Let's not judge his past. We should instead give him the clean slate he is looking for, and provide him the opportunity to be the respectful and respectable member he appears to want to be.

Now, pet corn snake...I've have spent quite a bit of time defending you here...you better not make me look the fool, or I may just take a plane and show up on your doorstep...;).

I agree, a second chance is in order.

As the Bible says:
The Bible said:
God forgives us even when we don't obey.

That could have happened to anyone. Imagine how horrified he must feel! I'm sure a tough lesson was learned there.

I didn't see that thread when it was originally posted, and when I began to read it, I was filled with joy and was already composing a congratulatory post in my head- until I finished reading.
