Go Ahead, Make My Day!
Desdemona scraped some of the skin off the right side of her head a little over a month ago. I simply kept her tub as clean as possible, applied a little antibiotic twice and let nature do the rest. She shed twice since then, once about a week after it happened, then again 2 weeks later. Normally, she's a very curious snake, always watching what I'm doing when I'm in the snake room. However, after the scrape, she kept herself hidden. She would eat, but only in her hide. After the second shed, she decided that she looked good enough to come out again. I'm glad she did as I missed her while she was recovering. I have no idea what she scraped herself on. I'm thinking it was her hide as there is nothing else in her tub she could have done it on and I can't see how she could have done it on feeding day as the only other place she is either in my hand or in the snake bag on the scale. I've replaced the hide so hopefully there won't be a recurrence.
