Since it looks like I may get to keep my paradox now (yes!) I'm starting a progression thread for the little wormy ^_^.

CLOSE-UP! (sorry, don't mean to flood... but they're only hatchlings once!)

He REALLY is interesting. It "looks" like someone dragged a piece of charcoal over him... or chimney soot. I know it is not (esp after a shed) but that's what it looks like.

I look forward to seeing much more of him in the future!

OH, congrats on being able to keep him too!

He's gorgeous! May I request a close-up photo of the other eye for comparison? The dark pigment is obviously seen in the one eye and it looks like there may be some in the other eye as well, but with only the one photo, I can't be sure.

Nice mosiac! Check the tongue flick. I love it when they have a solid pink tongue.......except for a few black specks! If lucky, yours will be like that, too!

I'm not going to be back in Hermiston for a few weeks. I might be able to convince my fiance to pull him out and snap a few more pics so we can see the other eye.

If not then I will get some more up myself within a month or so ^_^.

Does he have black anywhere besides his head and neck? I love his little whiskers.

Yes there are a few patches throughout his body. I thought my fiance would take pics of that but I guess he forgot. The next pics I put up will show those...

UPDATE!

Here's some updated pics of Freckles (now a confirmed female.)

I can't help but say "he" when I speak about "him", but alas, he is a she, lol.

Oh, and I snapped some pics, put her away, and then re-read this thread for the first time in forever. Looks like I was supposed to also take pics of each eye for comparison. I forgot . Looks like that'll have to wait until next time.

The black is really starting to get prominent as she ages. I'm really liking how she's turning out ^_^.

The head shot in this one was flipped horizontally, so the black marks you are seeing on the face are really on the other side in real life.

She's a very nice looking snake, but the more I stare at these pics the more over-saturated they look so keep that in mind. Maybe my flash is too powerful?

She is really bright but for some reason the pics are hurting my eyes, lol! (Maybe it's just the migraine )

Wow, shes cool :) I love her freckles.. You know the candy cane I just got has some black speckles on here but nothing near as intense as hers..
