New Tricolor Hoggies

Jynx

Digger, RN
For some strange reason, cupid has struck me with a vengeance, and I am just head over heels for these guys! I adore all of the other Hoggies out there (especially some of the fantastical Western morphs) but I gave my heart over to the little Tricolors. Thanks to Troy and Nanci's recommendation, I was able to find the perfect breeder, Jenea Wood of Guardian Reptiles. She has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and because of her, I have a lovely unrelated pair of Tricolors now.

These pics were taken by her, because they are obviously not here yet... its still just a wee bit too cold to ship anything comfortably. I was able to procure a handsome little devil of an 08 male, and from what Jenea says a stunning high-black 07 female that was originally intended to be a keeper. She was able to take these shots of the male (who I haven't thought of a name for yet), but unfortunately the female was deep in shed.

Here's Unnamed, the little boy.... cute as a freaking button!

Apparently, I also got a Tricolor Cobra in the deal :grin01:

Even though she wasn't able to take pics of the female (whom I've already named Dhalia), she did send me pics of her parents, who are both high black. She assures me that Dhalia is a spitting image of her parents.

Her sire, Harley

This is a new adventure for me, so I'm sure you'll be hearing alot about these guys. As soon as I get pics of Dhalia, I will post them. And you better believe that when they come home, they will be the target of a photo craze!

Gee, can you tell I'm excited?

Thanks for looking :wavey:

They look awesome Catherine!
I'm not a hoggie fan, but the tri's ALMOST
make me change my mind.. LOL

Thats what I said at first Gene, and then I fell in love with them. I don't know how, or why for that matter... but they are such neat little snakes!

Hoggies are great li'l snakes and I really like the tricolored ones.
Bummer ... I can see the pics of the female's parents (who look wonderful BTW) but cannot see the pics of your new boy. May have to, later, reboot or (?) in order to see his pic/s.
At any rate ... congrats!

Awesome hoggies! It's always great to have another person enter into the wonderful world of hognose snakes. :)

For some reason, they are not showing up on my computer now either... they were last night though. Hmph...

Let me try this again...

Ah ha! Success! (stoopid computer) Ok... once again here is the little 08 male. Anyone have any name suggestions? I like to name things in pairs, and the female's name will be Dhalia, so go off that :)

Ohhh they are simply ADORABLE! ^__^
Those vivid stripes put my drab little Western hoggy to shame...though I really do love the buff colors as well. <3 Lucky you!

Very cool! How about "Bucky"? That was Josh Harnett's character in The Black Dahlia...and your little guy sort of looks like he has buck teeth!

Nice ones, Catherine!!! Congrats on the "soon-to-be" new additions. They really do look great.

And NO! I will NOT be following you down this road... due to what I talked about in my PM recently... LOL! You can try, but I will NOT give in to tri-hog temptation!

(YET!)

Ah ha! Success!

Hooray, I can see him now!:)
Beautiful li'l guy and .... soooooo cute!

Anyone have any name suggestions? I like to name things in pairs, and the female's name will be Dhalia, so go off that :)

The spelling is different but, when it comes to Dahlias (the flower), there is one called "Danjo Doc" that is a very pretty dark red, or maroon, color (a pic, of one, can be seen here: http://www.dansdahlias.com/product_details.php?category_id=194&page=2&item_id=82 ).
I guess that, if you like the name, you could always call your boy "Danjo" (starts with a "D", is in the Dahlia theme, and is one of the very few Dahlia names that can be applied to a boy's name)... and if you don't like it ... it's back to the thinking block for you.;)

Fred... no one is pressuring you! This is an internal battle that you get to deal with all by your lonesome. But you know... they will be breeding when they come of age...

Those are awesome names guys! I'm still torn though. :( Keep them coming!

LOL. Yeah, I know... Simply too funny, though. Remember that "imitation is the finest form of flattery"! Although, in my case, that is nigh impossible. LOL. Really, though, I'll have to see them in person, sometime!!!
