A long time ago I posted pics of Cosmo, my '06 male Lavender, and remember Deano (Roy Munson) asking if I was sure he wasn't a Hypo Lavender. Well I bought him as a Lavender with no known hets, so only breeding would confirm one way or the other.

He got his first chance at the ladies this year (Cosmo that is, not Deano ;) ) and has performed wonderfully! His first lady was Beauty, my female Ghost het Amel, who produced 22 good eggs, one of which went bad during incubation, the rest of which started pipping last Friday 3rd July 2009, after 73 days of incubation . So far 20 of the 21 remaining eggs have hatched or pipped and there is not a single Normal or Anery in the clutch. They are all Hypos, Ghosts, Snows and Amels, so that leads me to believe that not only is Cosmo a Hypo Lavender but he is also het for Amel and Anery! And if he is a Hypo Lavender that makes the Amel, a Hypo Amel and the Snows would be Hypo Snows!!! :D

Here's a couple of pics of the parents, Beauty and Cosmo, followed by the 1st clutch of eggs........

Awesome! Congrats, on the proving out, the hets, and ... the babies!:)

Very gorgeous pippies! Congrats on the hidden hets!

Very nice, Sue. Swell parents and beautiful babies.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I could not be any happier at the moment :D

Bah congrats on the hidden hets. Congrats on the hidden homo!! ;) That Amel looks hot!

Ha, when I started to read your post, I thought you were going to say "Bah Humbug" lol.....I'm quite stunned that Cosmo must be homo Hypo though, I wouldn't have predicted that at all! And I do agree that the Amel, the only one in the clutch, is very hot looking and I can't wait to see what he looks like after shedding :)

PS the last egg has now pipped and looks to be another Ghost, so I suppose that pretty much clinches the fact that Cosmo is homo Hypo! :D

HooRah for a successful hatching year. Good Lord you deserve it!:dancer: The hatchlings are beautiful and I'm sure you will be a very attentive mom. Do you think you will be able to part with them when the time comes?:nope: You NEED a nice Hypo Lav girl for your boy. Good looks like his should be spread around.
Congrats.

Thank you! There were supposed to be only two keepers this year, but I think that may have changed slightly ;)

I have actually got a beautiful, suspected Hypo, Lav girl (Blossom) here that was paired with her brother this year to prove out the Hypo, who I will put Cosmo with next year. I also have a suspected Hypo, Bloodred het for Lavender (Pandora) that will be ready to go next year, she probably could have bred this year, but I wanted to give her another year to be safe.

I'm including pics of both girlies, just because ;)

The first 2 are Blossom (yes, she really is that pink!) and the second 2 are Pandora......

Thank you ladies! The last little one is out of the egg and is another Ghost :D

I'll post update pics once they've all shed, as I'm sure they will look much nicer then :)
